You know that "pinch" method when you hold the phone that improves signal strength?

A poster said a week ago that basically putting one finger on the top left of your phone with a second on the lower left corner improves signal strength.

Well it works really well at my job (inside a big building) where I usually hover at 100db but using this method I get about 88-90db and adds 2 bars.

So my question is can I do something (or add something) that will duplicate that effect without having to hold my phone with a couple of fingers?

Would placing a little tin foil on the corners in-between the phone and the case work at all?

Sure would...at decreasing your signal. The tin foil would absorb the signal ( better than your hand. ) and block the antenna from receiving it. You need to extend the antenna outside of where you are holding your hand, which first means actually connecting something to the antenna.

I'll look into if we have an antenna port like the droid in a bit, phone is charging atm.

There is an antenna port it appears, but it is covered by the back. It is just below the battery. Kind of curious that they did it that way.

You may want to confirm if its actually a "test port", which it most likely will be. If that's the case, then an antenna would be best left for "emergency" situations. If someone is bold enough to try, and it provides positive results, the next step is "Dremmel".

I've tried this and it does NOT seem to work for me. I notice no improvement in the number of bars or in db.

Besides, holding it that way isn't the best when actually trying to talk or use the phone. Can someone post a photo of how this is actually accomplished?

thanks!
I can also I'm not noticing any improvement...Would it be possible for one of you guys to post how your holding it?

Just incase somehow I'm doing it wrong, I doubt I am but I see no change at all...i however

DID notice change holding it this way on the right side (with the screen facing me ofcourse) lol... well any response would be helpful :/
