I was wondering if you guys track your expenses... i've heard of 2 expense tracking applications (xpenser, toshl)... and was wondering what you use?
I know this is an old post but I am new to Android and finding a good expenses software package is proving difficult. Most of the ones I can find only support 1 currency. With travelling internationally in my region, I need something that can handle more than 1 currency. Up until now I have always had a WM phone (sshhh. don't tell anyone) and use Expense Plus from Walletware but it seems they are out of business now. Well, any support emails fail to get a response and the website has been the same for years.
Anyway, my point is that I am a software development engineer as well as electronics design and I am currently learning to programme for the Android platform. I have a lot of experience of Embedded C++, Windows Mobile and PC development so I am not new to programming just to Android...
I am going to develop over the next few months an Android Expenses application that features the ability to handle international business travel. It can also be used by home users too. I will be including the ability to sync the currency for each day so that you have a record of the trip. I find just now this limitation with my current software as I forget what the rate was at the time and it could be a couple of months between submitting expenses. Even if you do this monthly, having the exchange rate in the expense makes it easier to calculate the total to be reimbursed etc. I was thinking of adding some form of percentage to this so that it covers for any commission you might be charged by the money changer or your credit card, debit from bank etc. This would be optional.
The software would export via various formats so that you can use the information in your own expenses. Final output is not fully decided yet.
I am keen to hear any comments from potential users of expense software of any ideas you would like to see in the software. I am looking to develop this in the coming months full time and I plan to release it as a limited free application so that users can try it out before purchasing. As for the commercial version I am going to keep this at a low price so that you will all want to buy it so I would appreciate what sort of price you would be willing to pay for it?
Cheers for listening.

I have been stuck with an iPhone for this very reason. I have not been able to find anything that competes with the iPhone Expense tracking I have been using. If you want a good application to use as a reference, please use iXpenseit for the iPhone. They don't seem to be interested in moving to the Android Platform. I want to be able to import the 2 years+ of data I have into a new application using the CSV format iXpenseit uses.
If you do create an application that is as good or better than iXpenseit, please let me know.
I have used Exoense plus for years ,the best thing since sliced bread I would love to buy a similar program happy to pay $50.00I know this is an old post but I am new to Android and finding a good expenses software package is proving difficult. I am pretty sure that Expense IT will meet the needs that are mentioned within this thread. If not, let me know and I will add the feature.
