Remote Desktop (RDP) Client

I was looking for a Remoter Desktop client in the marketplace and see there are quite a few pay ones (too bad there are no free ones). None of them mention if they work with the new, more secure, RDP introduced with the latest versions of Windows. I tried one demo app, and it failed to connect to my Windows 7 computer (which uses this latest version by default). Can anyone confirm a remote desktop client that supports the latest version of RD?

PS: I found a great VNC viewer, but I need one that specifically supports the built in remote desktop protocol.

Hello RTAdams89,
Yes, as mentioned Server 2008 is the best option for RDP. It just needs to be configured.
Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here Windows 7 IT Pro Category . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support.

In my opinion, Android's future is especially secure with the use of the devices as business tools, such as with the 2X Client for Android (http://www.2x.com/virtualdesktop/android)...it's a free download and lets you use Windows apps from your Android device, giving you application publishing and RDP Remote Desktop capabilities for free, in contrast to the Citrix Receiver and Wyse PocketCloud. Definitely worth a look.

I can't find instructions for what to do at the PC end to make 2X client work for me. (Desire HD to Win7 PC) Its all a bit too complicated for me.

I easily connect phone using Teamviewer and see the desktop on my phone but nothing works. I cant click anything.. Any help greatly appreciated.

Single-finger tap for click should work. Of course you make sure the cursor is on something clickable, right? A number of other gestures should work too. If they don't, try to quit and restart the apps, and re-establish the connection between the two devices.

cheers copleo. I tried Teamviewer again and it works smooth now. I don't see anyway to transfer files, or even set up a partner account or a way to be able to connect without someone being on the laptop as well. so only good for remote assistance for me between Desire HD and MacBook Pro. Unless, someone knows better??
