I have been searching around the forums for some custom boot animations, and I noticed that there is not one consolidated thread for all of these animations. So, I thought I would start this thread where everyone can post their custom animations. I just rooted my Droid, and I am looking for the default eye animation and the nexus one boot animation. If anyone has these, please post them in this thread. It would be greatly appreciated!

I would love to see all the custom boot animations everyone has made.

how frustrating!

I did a little poking around and i found the super mario bros boot animation, which uses the full droid screen during the boot sequence (video on youtube), so i downloaded the zipped png files and opened them in photoshop and after 3 hours of making a new sequence with the same dimensions, the boot animation i made only uses a piece of the screen rather than the whole thing =/

anyone know what must be done to get the full screen to be used in the animation?

apparently 256x455 is not the right dimensions

The screen size is 480 x 854. ;)

I am not 100% sure, as I haven't played with it too much yet. But there is a .txt file in the bootanimation.zip file that basically controls the boot animation. The file is called "desc.txt". Below is the stock contents and then a brief explanation of each parameter.

480 427 30p 1 0 part0p 0 10 part1

480 - stretched width of the animation (my orig files were 256x256 pixels)
427 - stretched height of the animation
30p - this controlled the speed of both parts of the animation
1 - this defined how many times part0 of the animation looped
0 - saw no change when altering this number
part0 - folder containing first part of the animation
p - this was a bit confusing as there is no space between the words "part0" & the "p". I tried adding a space and changing this number -> "part0 30p". I expected this to change the speed of the second part of the animation, but there was no change as far as I could tell.
0 - this defined the number of times part1 of the animation looped (0=infinite)
10 - saw no change when altering this number
part1 - folder containing second part of the animation

I guess you need to experiment with the first two parameters. Just remember to keep all files/folders in uncompressed/stored mode. Otherwise, your animation won't play.
