Battery life improving

I just wanted to brag a little about my Aria. I have had it for almost two weeks now and I love it! I was a bit worried at first about the battery life. It seemed to deplete quickly. It was barely lasting a whole day. And that was with moderate use. I think a lot of that was due to the lack of signal where I work. It really drains the battery. I noticed the last couple of days the battery life getting better. I checked the battery monitor and it shows that I have been unplugged from the charger for 2 days and still have at least half my batter left! That is with moderate use. I set it so that everything is not always syncing. I think that helps a lot. Anway, I just wanted to share since there seems to be a lot of talk about the poor battery life. So far I've been impressed and happy with my little Aria!

If you want an even better battery life, consider rooting to Froyo 2.2 from dev (devoloper) Attn1. It's on it's seventh version and works great. Phone is nimbler and has advanced Text to Speech capabilities. I've had my Aria for a month now and I've read through volumes of forums. I'm proud to say I'm perfectly satisfied with it as well. cheers

I just read about this. I know absolutely nothing about this kind of stuff so I'm a bit scared to root. I wouldn't know what I was doing and I'm afraid I would royally screw up my phone.

^^ That for me too. I see rooting as a thing for phone hobbyists. It takes some desire to beat the systems and keep up with the resulting quirks. For now, i'm sticking to out-of-the-box simple-ish with proven apps.

I agree, the average user won't need to root. I consider myself a slightly above average user when it comes to phones (I've always been into customizing computers). I rooted and installed Liberated Froyo, and also tried out CM6, and wouldn't dream of going back to stock. Unless of course we get an official Froyo update, and it gets rooted
Anyways, I never thought my battery life was too bad on stock (I had most syncing off or set to 3 hours, and gps and bluetooth turned off). But now on Liberated, my battery is even better.

I'm really enjoying my phone too! I don't think there was one setting to tweak the syncing. I went to each I app I wanted to change and set it to least frequent setting.

Rooting is cake with unrevoked! There is even a video tutorial in here under useful aria links. After you root, just make a nandroid back up in recovery, and youre golden

am by about 6:30 pm. I have only my gmail account syncing, i hardly make any calls, although i text a good bit. I downloaded Advance Task Killer to kill any apps as soon as i lock the screen. Do you think my Aria's battery life will improve with time? or should i send it back and get a different phone? I really love this phone but as a student i cant charge it half way through the day. (I dont get home until around 9 pm because of the gym and work)

mine lasts (to 10%) from 7am to 5pm with constant use of wifi, 200+ txts, lots to online browsing, few calls, bit of angry birds and random app checking.

honestly thats not bad for me lol. this phone is addicting.

Mine lasts from 7am-~6-7pm with constant text. Wifi,Gps,Mobile Network all turned off. One or two calls, no games...

Get rid of the task killer. Install UNINSTALLER and you can delete that taskkiller with ease...


Rooting is quite easy and it would take alot to brick it. Its worth learning if you want a beast of a phone..
