Not sure about that one. I tried better keyboard and didn't really like it, so I opted for the PRO version if Smart keyboard. I've heard good things about better keyboard though. As I recall, the difference between 7 and 8 is what version of android you have. Although, I could be wrong.

I have totally ruled out using Better Keyboard. After getting accustomed to some of the others, like Keypurr and Ultra, Better is just plain vanilla...borrrrinnnggg! LOL I could care less now about what it looks like...the function is what is important to me. However I DO like the way both Keypurr and Ultra look. :)

I will say this about my experience with Better Keyboard:

7 is much better than 8. I didn't like 8 at all. :)

Something I discovered a couple days ago on LauncherPro: Modify the number of rows, and number of columns. Go to Menu>Preferences>Homescreen Settings, you will find the two aforementioned options near the bottom of the list.

I personally love the ability to add columns, and now have 5 columns per screen without any reduction in icon size. I did find a caveat to raising the number of rows, however, and this is the fact that part of the name of each icon gets cut off.

Either way, for those of you who wished you could have more icons per homescreen, now you can!

You know, Blast, I think I'm gonna create a thread called: Customizing the Huawei Ascend. Whadda ya think? Maybe you would like to help me. :)

Yes you are right about the rows and columns. Experimenting with changing them is the best way to find out what you can do.

I use a basic 5 X 5 setup. It gives me just enough room to do the things I want.

I've found that when it comes to widgets, less is more. LOL

:D

If you want to know how good a program is, the comments on the app page are usually helpful. I always look at comments before I download anything. If you really want to scrutinize and don't want to do it from your phone, go here:

https://market.android.com/

As mentioned in another thread, you can browse the market from your PC, and you can also push downloads to your phone from the site when logged in with your gmail account.

Be sure to add something about customizing the unlock screen, using something other than lockbot.

And of course, for us unrooted users :)

The couch potato app sends subliminal messages urging mass consumption of BUDWEISER & potato chips & to watch TV commercials prompting you to purchase more of the same.;)

The trial version only lasts one week, after which time it sends out a signal to your remote control that causes your channels to keep defaulting to Spongebob Squarepants! :p

I tried Dolphin, and I'm sorry, Opera Mini is faster. And smaller.

Now the app I really want is the one that opens your bank account and magically multiplies positive numbers until you don't have enough checks to use all the money! The first person to make that, you owe me a cut of the profits for creating the idea. Oh, and I'll owe you a gigantic thank you.

We already have that! It's called the Federal Reserve App. Only it kinda works in reverse!

It really makes a big difference in the multi-media corner. I can watch and view quite a few more sites (Though not all). It's the closest thing I can get to flash (I've tried all other options/browsers). Only other app I like as much is Handcent (Which I voted for) Love the customization! Just wish it loaded up faster and fixed a few of it's quirks...

That's really cool, Joe! I saw that yesterday and was going to ask what Launcher that was. Do you like it a lot? How many home screens can you have? Also, have you seen the iphone icons that you can use with it? They can only be used with the Panda Launcher I think.

Thanks so much for the valuable input on Panda Home (available at the market).
