has anyone in uk recieved rc33(rc9) officialy

One of the things that gets me is that the update isn't anything to get too excited about anyway, but you can see in the news that the new Android HTC Magic phone will be getting alot of the cupcake elements (onscreen keyboard, video etc). By the time WE receive the RC9 update there could be people using the new HTC phone that has alot of the things we have been waiting for, but won't have!
After seeing the videos of the new HTC Magic I think the RC9 update is a bit lame now.

so are the current custom firmwares usa (dates/numbers) only or are there any uk ones available?
seems if google are only going to keep the USA constantly updated then the community will have to support itself perhaps this is what they (google) intend.
its a hell of a lot of work to make different versions for every country.

Again in theory it's open source, your missing features?
Do it like JK (JesusFreke) and compile them into the OS.

They can't hold any (software)-features back, because it's too easy to reintegrate them from the branch back.

What? disjointed sentences need explaining

If you mean people compiling features back in themselves and loading custom FW then seriously how many people know or indeed want to do that. People on communities like us are a small portion of the handset buying market. The majority just buy what they see and then wait for the next version.

We won't have to wait much longer for the Uk update. T-Mobile have pushed the update to 1,000 Uk G1's at random and will push it to the rest of us when they are happy that it is stable. This is the information which has been given to T-mobile employees to pass onto customers if asked. Shouldn't be long now. :):):)
