Some companies are clueless. I am sure someone is going to see that, and think... you know, I can build an app for $30, and make money hand over fist, if people are willing to pay $10 a month.

I see this as a bit better in that all the calculations are happening on their server and not in the phone. but 9.99 per month is a steep fee..

So even thought I will probably give in the 1-month test drive ... I will probably stay with the similar less-featured "1Click"

I appreciate a good turn by turn solution coming finally, but $9.99 seems really steep for a monthly fee. You can now buy a dedicated GPS for as little as $159. so to pay $120 a year to have the convenience of incorporating that into your phone is too steep IMO. I would consider $4.99 per month, but for $9.99 they can keep it.

Even $4.99 a month is way to high great app but not even close to what they are charging maybe a $29.99 flat fee but if it's more than 30 bux not worth it to me........

I Agree ... even with all the great features ... you would almost have to be a professional driver and be on the streets for a living...

At the price they are charging per month at the end of the year you'll have spent as much as a garmin which doesn't have a monthly fee.... the way I see it is it if it's going to cost more than the competition I'm going with them besides google maps is free and I'm sure that with in 3 months there will be an equally good app that costs far less just on principal alone!

I was so excited for this application but then I saw the fee. That made me so sad. I really can't stand the GPS thats stock with Google Maps. I'll test drive it for a month.

It's not going to be on the Market...yet. You have to go to Telenav's site to get the app. I have it down loaded and (everybody might throw tomatoes at me) I like it and am going to keep it. Yea 10 buck am month kinda sux but untill another navi app that is just as good comes up this is all that is available. I have been testing it all day today and the Telenav really transitioned to Android smoothly. So far the only thing I see they could have done is add an auto-rotate function. As for now you have to open the keyboard to get a landscape picture. But to all my Android Bretheren and Sisteren, I suggest that you do try it out for the free 30 days. I can't help myself but I I have to say this, I still ain't seen $hit for iphone dealing with a turn-by-turn navigation app . Peace, luv, and hair grease.

10 dollars a month, they must have lost there mind!, why not go out get a good gps for around 100 bucks have there software plus hardware, come are they crazy??? no one is going to be willing to pay a monthely fee, apps are about ONE TIME FEE, we should protest them.

Go ahead and protest. In the mean time download and use it for 30 days then cancel it. That will show them. One main advantage is that it is on your phone so you jump in your friends car to go to lunch and it comes up there is that new place but I don't know where it is comes up and you are not saying take me back to my car so I can get my GPS. Just whip out your phone and search, find, enjoy. I agree it is steep that is why I don't have it. Didn't have it on my Blackberry or my iPhone either. But I will most likely get it for Android until some better solution comes along.

I think around $5 or less is fine. Remember it has live traffic updating and that alone runs you $5 to $10 bucks a month on Garmin, TomTom, etc. Not to mention the maps are live updated as well. With the others you generally have to either pay for updated maps and even if you do not the updates do not come out that often, so construction, new roads, etc are not there.

Personally $10 a month is way too high, but half that price and I would be all over that or if I needed a GPS everyday.

Bear in mind the $10 / month includes live traffic and map updates and such. I was looking into a dedicated GPS, and found you need subscription for typically $5/month for live traffic. And updated maps (probably every few years) can cost maybe $50 or more.

For now you can get turn by turn GPS directions with a free app - Andnav2 - but it doesn't work in the entire US (California works).

I live in Cali and tried Andnav2 and it has nothing on Telenav. I would rather pay than use Andnav. No disrespect to the Andnav developers but Telenav may very be the best mobile phone navigation app that we will see for the next 2-3 years, free or paid.

I can understand that the cost may be high for someone who doesn't drive a ton. However, I drive about 50-100 miles a day in the Sacramento, CA area (bad traffic) and TeleNav has worked brilliantly. I have had a TomTom XL for the last year and it worked well for basic navigation. So far TeleNav has been good at navigation (roughly the same as the TomTom), but EXCELLENT for traffic congestion notification and re-routing. The best feature so far has been the ability to program e-mail alerts that tell you about traffic incidents on your specified routes. I have it send me three or four morning reports. It's like having a personal traffic reporting assistant. Sure, I could log on in the morning and look them up, but I'm often in a hurry in the morning and the alerts are sent right before I leave. So far it has been worth every penny.

Honestly everyone is entitled to their own opinion... seems to me that other options are cheaper or better like paying for satellite radio which is basically the same cost cheaper if you add additional radios and you can get all your updates for traffic plus all the other stations and for a few bucks more tv and a few other bells and whistles... Or just buy a new mobile nav device still cheaper.... I'm not saying it isn't a great app I think it is honestly I do... just don't think it's worth $120 a year... and I live in the LA/OC area which compares to Sacramento easily...

I've been using it for almost a month and plan to keep it till a cheaper one comes along. Quality is top notch, I'm a driver for fedex so I have a real need for it.
