cracked screen...didnt drop it

so i came home from school one day, i had it in the case with the protective screen still on caring for it like no other. i went to play rockband for an hour or so and come back to check my phone (which was laying on a dresser) i see this scratch type thing running across the screen. at first i thought it was just a piece of dog hair or something put i lifted the clear stuff and it was an actual giant scratch? but how did it scratch/crack? there's no cracks or anything anywhere else.

nope..no little brothers or sister
i was driving home from school..had it in my coat pocket. used it before entering car and it was fine

i got the phone mid jan and this happened like mid feb

Maaan, sorry to hear/see that. At least it's not horribly cracked (just one).
