there are remote desktops apps (like LogMeIn) and there is eStrongs File Explorer which has LAN access to files.

Not sure which type you are looking for.

Another option I use is ZumoDrive. Sync my home computer and have access to those files on the droid... works well for me.

Android VNC

I use Dynamic DNS and can login to my PC from anywhere. I also use FTP Server and can access my phone from my PC. If I want to be really sad I can start the FTP server on my phone, log in to my pc via VNC and transfer files to and from my phone over the ftp connection controlled totally from the phone.

How you connect depends on what you want to do.

I am also running os 1.5.

Estrongs File Explorer is nice but it only lets you access whatever files/folders are under the particular user you log into. So for instance I can't access my 2 hard drives where I store all my media. And as far as I know you can only access your computer if you're on your wifi network. I'd prefer something like Estrong Explorer, but with the ability to have full access to my storage, and be able to access it from anywhere.

What's a program that's along those lines? I don't care much for controlling my desktop remotely; just accessing the system and fetching whatever I need, from anywhere.
