they are paying 734 $ equivalent of pound, not 734 pounds.

Also keep in mind that includes 20% VAT. so 600*1.2 is like 720, Price seems right on. Also since its in europe, you guys pay more for electronics. I remember paying 120 euros for a 70 dollar router.

Same thing is true for ipads, laptops and pretty much everything. If you don't like it, talk to your govt.

Did you see the 3g pricing in Germany? It's €699.95 which is about 593 GBP. So to me, that's substantial savings if you live in the UK if the 3G model is made available in the UK. 449.99 GBP wifi vs 593 GBP (3G).

Yeah we always get screwed here in the UK. There is no way you will pay the equivalent in dollars in the states. Here in the UK we typically see the number of dollars you pay for something is the number of pounds we pay. For instance this is the same price as the ipad. I bet you don't pay $700+ for a bottom of the line ipad. Essentially that is what I would take from this info. It will cost the same as the wifi only ipad
