I love the green layout of Icarus. Only one I'd like more would be maybe blue to match the outside of the phone. (I'm a darn perfectionist Virgo!) No but, Really I'm very very happy with this rom!!

3D app drawer is the bomb. I think it looks absolutely awesome!

P.S Yes, That's a Phandroid app you see right there in the lower left corner. LOL.

LOL Did you forget the pic?

It just now showed up for me! LOL How really strange!

I LOVE that September! VERY VERY NICE!!!! :D

Thanks so much for sharing with us. That wallpaper didn't come with it did it? I don't think I have it on mine.

Also, how did you post your screenshot on here, out of curiosity. Did you do it with your phone somehow?

Tinypic.com. (Mounted my SD card, Then had tinypic.com find the file on my SD card. Didn't even have to move it to my computer). Though I do see here on the Phandroid app that there is an option to post an image when you press reply. I'm going to try it right after I post this. We shall see how it comes out. I can send you that wallpaper if you like it. It's one I've had for ages.

Okay going to post from phone. One second.

Thanks hon! I'll have to try tinypic.com. That's very cool! I upload them to my photobucket acct first. Your way sounds easier. I'm all for easy!

;)

PS...I'd love to have that wallpaper. :)

The good thing about tinypic is you do not need an account to use it. I will send you that wallpaper as soon as I post this. :)

Oh, I installed the rEVOlution theme, you can get it from myascend.org. Not sure what other forums the theme is posted on.

Oh. How do you use a different theme? I'm using Icarus, Can I do different themes if I'm not stock rooted? Errr. Think I'll just wait for Isaac to make his new mod for us. ^^. Thanks though.

I'm running Icarus 1.1 rooted to and you can install different themes. Not sure if there is a guide on installing themes here, but there is a good guide over at myascend.org along with several more good themes. Anyways, it's real easy to install themes, download metamorph from the market (free) and in a few clicks you can have a theme installed.

Thanks a lot! Really appreciate it. I've got an account with myascend.org but I haven't really used it. Spend all my time here!

You guys, how are you customizing your status bars? Mine is the default ugly white one. I see in these screen shots your status bars are black or transparent. How do I do this?

The Icarus 1.1 rom is the one with the dark green notification with see through pull down notification bar. You should read up the thread about it under Huawei Ascend - Everything root side directory. ^^.

I can't do it without rooting? Darn. I'm scared to root :( What if I mess up?

And I hear you can't update to Android 2.2 if you root.

A lot of us find that custom roms are much faster and more stable than any of the stock OS. Even when we get 2.2, I am not going to get it. I'm likely going to keep trying out these custom roms that are being made. They have less bugs, No bloatware, and they tend to run much faster (Loading times, boot up time, Etc). I'm not saying you should do this I'm just saying most major useful customization is done after rooting. Though installing a custom rom is a bit different from rooting. It is more complicated. I really have to say rooting my phone was easier than cooking macaroni and cheese from a box. Just sayin..*Laughs*

P.S There is no proof that we all would have to unroot to get the update. Only issue is that you'd best make a back up of all your apps with Titanium. That way you'd have all the Metro/Cricket apps to restore when it comes time to upgrade (If you intend to remove them that is).

So. Here it is. Me texting myself so I won't give away any of my actual conversations. LOL (It looks a lot better on the phone than on the screen shot x.x)

All the different launcher have a lot of themes to go with them. LPP has tons of themes if you just look in the market.

Just type in Themes in the market search and you'll be amazed! :)

You can go into 'preferences' and select 'appearance' and then select 'hide notification bar' and you won't see it at all!

You don't have to be rooted to do this. And you can just unroot if you want to download 2.2 when it comes out. (if it does)

The best thing to do is backup your system with Nandroid. Availbable free at the market. :)
