N64oid by Yongzh

Definately awesome to see! Has anyone purchased it yet and given it a spin? From the Market comments it looks like it's pretty solid.

*edit* So I couldn't resist. I went ahead and got it. I tried Star Fox 64 and it runs a tad fast but it's definately playable. On first launch it froze up, but I tried it a couple more times and worked just fine. It will lag at certain cut scenes or the planet map on Star Fox, but not bad at all for the first build.

You can change to the d-pad in the virtual keypad settings and keypad scheme. However it doesn't seem like you can have both the d-pad and joystick at this point in time so you still wouldn't be able to do finishers in the WWF games.

Tried a couple more games. Golden Eye is a little sluggish, it's also awkward to play since the control layouts have the Z button in the top left and its weird to shoot. Mario Party is laggy, IMO not playable. Mario Tennis has some graphics issues with the screen getting messed up from the special effects and also a little laggy. The Rush racing games work, 2049 doesn't seem to have sound, but 2 is playable. Mario 64 is a bit fast but it is playable. Tony Hawk is playable, even with the awesome soundtrack and all. Super Smash is playable, though the controls will take a while to get used to. Wave Race is playable but again fast. Battle Tanx won't load. Cruisin USA has some graphics error and doesn't display properly. Rampage 2 is a little too laggy for me to consider playable.

Overall, it seems the biggest problem are some games play too fast, kind of like a turbo mode. However, the thing is still in it's very first build so Yongzh has already mentioned in the description it has a long way to go, but it still plays many games in it's current state. Definately going to be awesome when it's tuned and running perfectly.

Wow, this is really neat! I wasn't expecting it to play games so well, but it does. Playing on Samsung Fascinate. For a 1.0 release, it's really great!

Super Mario 64 runs twice as fast as it should (along with the music). I'd say this was an issue, but the fact that the emulator is TOO fast should be a testament to how well optimized it is. Already fixed in 1.1 apparently (no time to try it out right now).

Banjo Kazooie was a little slow, but setting it to frameskip 1 makes the music and game run at fullspeed, it just goes a little bit choppier than usual (which is fine, the game runs flawlessly). Only glitches i've seen so far are the start menu showing some garbage and the jigsaw level transitions not working correctly (both glitches are present in some N64 emulators for PC, something to do with framebuffer or something).

As i said, there's a 1.1 version which apparently fixed the sound pitch and implemented a frame limiter according to the changelog. Can't test it out now as i'm under time constraints, but will try later. This emulator is looking amazing! :D

Just re-tested Mario Kart and Star Fox with the updated version. They run at proper speeds now. There will still be the occasional lag in cut scenes but the gameplay is fine. I'm assuming the same for Mario 64.

*edit* Right after I typed that my sound dropped out from Star Fox. Don't know if it was a one time deal and will work again if I restart or what. But the app is clearly getting support early on and pretty quick so I'm sure most games will be very much playable in the near future.

Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Ocarina of Time working extremely well for me. 1080 Snowboarding running fairly well also.

Castlevania looks to be running well from a youTube video I saw, and Mario Kart 64 is also pretty solid from video I've seen.

Goldeneye unplayable for me currently.

Gauntlet Legends and Conker's Bad Fur Day won't open for me at all.

Brilliant start, and so pleased to see its YongZH producing this one, since that pretty much assures us that it'll be well supported.

OC'd (1.13MHz) EVO running CM7 RC1 here...

Super Mario 64 is working quite well for me.

Pokemon Colosseum 2 a little slow, but playable (remember to switch the settings to d-pad instead of the joystick.)

Ocarina of Time runs slowly.

Starfox is slow.

Perfect Dark runs fine, crashes when you try to enter a mission.

Goldeneye menus are fine, runs very slowly when you start to play.

Pokemon Colosseum opening video works, won't get to the menu.

Waverace... just getting a black screen.

Can confirm that Castlevania Legacy of Darkness works very smoothly, even when choosing the higher res 'expansion pack detected' version.

Mario Golf crashes when you get into gameplay, so bad I had to pull battery.

Extreme G crashes a little way through navigating the menus.

Rayman 2 and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron don't load at all, just go to black screen.
