Please forgive if this shouldn't be in this area. I was looking for a place to locate developers for the creation of an application. Rather than post ideas, I was looking for a contact list or even member list of developers that would be available for work.

Does anyone know where I could find a list like this? Again, mods please move or delete if this is not in the right place. I am struggling finding this information.

Actually, I had the same problem. Maybe someone can point us in the right direction.

Hi all,

This is my first post to this forum, so please be kind.

I am an entrepreneur at heart and have an idea for an app that could potentially solve a long-standing problem for a rather large industry in America (and possibly world-wide).

It would be based on music identification like Shazam or Soundhound. If you have experience with the nuts and bolts of these apps and would like to help a guy get an idea off the ground, send me a PM and we can go from there.

C.

I am available. Search my apps in the Android market: "Delivery Droid" and "Dash&Ditto's Playground", my contact info will be with the market listing for those apps.

I don't want to high-jack the thread but what do the devs look to get from these type of partnerships. I'm going to be looking for one soon for me and my guys who are club promoters. Through our events and connects we can probably produce a lot of original content to use as wallpapers and stuff. maybe a few independent artist on board. I'm thinking what a lot of independent devs are probably lacking or don't have access to is marketing. Even if it's a local campaign it could probably provide more jump start than just hoping people stumble on it in the market.

Well, if a dev builds an app for you, it's nice to pay them. Ownership of an app can go two ways - either the programmer or the employer retains ownership after it's finished.

If the programmer has ownership, then the employer just buys the app like any other person would have to, and the dev makes money from selling the app.

For more specifically targeted apps, the employer pays the dev to create the app (basically, the dev becomes an independent contractor), and the employer gets the source code of the app and can distribute it however he/she sees fit.

Also there are many ways to advertise via mobile advertising platforms. It is a more direct target audience (people with android) and you will be able to reach globally. As far as compensation its what cmh said.
