Disappointed with paid Weatherbug.. temps always too low?

I have the paid Weatherbug app and live in Austin, Texas. The value reported by weatherunderground, weather.com, my car, as well as those drive-by LED billboards, tend to be within a couple of degrees of each other (usually 1-2 at max).

Weatherbug however (and correspondingly the Weatherbug site) tend to report temperatures 4-6 degrees lower. I understand that temperatures can vary across a metropolitan area, but 4-6 degrees?

I realize it's their data collection source rather than the phone app itself, otherwise their website wouldn't agree with the phone, which would be an app problem. I also realize it might be geographically isolated, but it's certainly consistently wrong at both my home and my job (26 miles apart, on opposite ends of town).

It would be nit-picking, except for the fact that it's a paid app, and I already dislike their radar/map. This is one paid app I wish I'd skipped.

that's odd cause i've been running weatherbug paid edition ever since I got the droid...it has always been right on with the temperature where ever I have been...everything from las vegas, to south lake tahoe, reno, park city, brian head, utah, cali...etc...

its pretty accurate from what I can see...

I had the same problem. It was always off by a few degrees. I finally uninstalled it after my iphone-slave friend compared weather apps with me and laughed at my inaccurate weather temp.

I have the same problem with Weatherbug. The temps in my car, from the Google News/Weather widget, and Beautiful Widgets Home are always several degrees different than the Weatherbug temp. I assumed it was due to my location. Since I live in the city of Rochester, and Lake Ontario is not too far away, the temperature in the suburbs near the lake can often be several degrees cooler, but I don't know why Weatherbug is the only one to report such a drastic difference.

I had the same problem. Everything around me would say one thing (my barometer/weather station, tv news) but the weatherbug app would say something 4

Mine are off by as much as 10 degrees occasionally. My weather widget paid pulls weather info from the nearest large city which is 20 miles away and subject to the urban heat island effect and god knows what else. I have Weatherbug elite and it's set to a small weather station at a county airport which is about 3 miles away from me. Weatherbug is always within 1 degree of the atomic clock I have which has a thermometer outside. When you're searching for a location to set, Weatherbug will show several points within the same city. Maybe you can find a point closer to yourself.

I will mention that I compare to National Weather Service reporting sites and they are never the same temp. Minneapolis can be 80 while St Paul says 75. So more than likely it is the reporting station and not Weather Bug. IThe temp can also be affected by the location of the tgauge.

I completely agree with you that it's probably the reporting station, or stations, since the issue is duplicated on opposite ends of the city (and it appears others are seeing it too). Nevertheless, whatever the cause, it is something I paid for, and the end result is that I find the temperatures unreliable (and the web results from Google and other sites more reliable), which means it's not providing value.

I have the same issue with WeatherBug Elite displaying a lower temp (usually exactly 4 degrees).

Interestingly, I only get this discrepancy when using the "My Location" function where WeatherBug detects your location via GPS. If I set up My Location AND a set location such as Washington DC, the set location of Washington DC will display the correct temperature (consistent with many other websites and sources like cars billboards etc) while the "My Location" option displays a value 4 degrees lower.

I've tested this out in towns hundreds of miles apart and the issue is consistent.

It's very weird!
