Accessories Steinheil Screen Protector

Bubbles should disappate in 24 to 48 hours. At least this is my experience with all screen protectors. I never get all bubbles out with squeegee. Give it a few days you should be fine. Unless the bubbles are the result of dust. If this is the case you should be able to see the speck. If dust you have to get rid of the speck. Carefully

Finally got my Ultra Fine screen protector and the only complaint I have is that I have bubbles. And I can't seem to get rid of them. Even with a sqeegee. They are not on the screen but all on the edges. Getting very frustrated. Otherwise I think it is a great product.

This is the problem with every non glare screen protector I have ever owned. I love non glare but after a few weeks that rainbow effect and feeling like I am looking through something starts to drive me crazy so I end up taking it off. Especially bad when reading on white background.

This time I ordered the clear version. I hate glare and I hate fingerprints. But at least I can wipe finger prints off and change viewing angles to reduce glare.

I got the ultra fine and it's so so. Definitely affects the clarity. It looks like I'm looking through something... which I am. LOL. I love the no fingerprints though. Its a hard call. Right now the clarity thing isn't bothering me too much.

I was a little disappointed in my installation. I'm super picky and did it in the steamy room with the shower on and everything and still managed to get several specs of dust under it. I should have pulled it up and gotten them out but was afraid once I started that I'd just end up getting more under there or fingerprints accidentally. The protector itself is an awesome fit just hard to keep it clean while putting it on on such a large device.

I got mine and it is defective. Essentially has a scratch on the inside

I emailed SGP and get this. They say I have to send it back then in 4 - 6 weeks they will send a replacement.

4 to 6 weeks are you kidding me. When questioned it they told me they have to get it return it to the manufacturer let them look at it and then send another one.

I will never buy from this company again.

I am disappointed as well. In addition to scratch glue on bottom of mine is weak so there is a long bubble a long bottom edge that will not press out. More disappointed SGP refuses to resolve issue in timely manner.

I still have not heard from SGP about the bubbles on my screen and they have not disappated. Well I guess that is money down the drain. I will never ever buy from this company again. This is not right. And this is also false advertising. Bubble free installation my butt. Now I have to go spend more money for another product.

The Ultra Fine SPB film in my opinion is as good as it gets with anti glare film. The speckling is minimal and there is no rainbow effect. I was able to go outside take some pictures and actual see the subject. I would suggest it to anyone looking to decrease glare and of course fingerprinting.

It is as good or better than films supplied by Fujustu for their tablet devices.

Installation notes:

Inspect your film before you install for scratches or imperfections.

Buyer beware! If you have never installed a protective film it is very hard to get a perfect job. There are many tutorials on the web and usually you only get one shot. My son has successfully removed the film, washed with dish soap and water and started from scratch. If you have a clean room at your disposal by all means use it. If the screen has minor bubbles in the field of vision that can't be seen when the device is on, leave it alone. A few bubbles around the perimeter are not a big deal.

The benefits of the film will more than out way the look of a few bubbles.

After all we bought our Xooms for their functionality not looks. The upside, you will be able to pick yours out of a group immediately.

Seems like this is the definitive latest word on the best protector. All I care about is the finger print reduction. Not concerned with the glare.

On a relates note. What are folks using to wipe their sreens? The cloth I am using just seems to smudge the screen.

Please post back when you get it and let us know how it goes. This feels like one of those deals too good to be true.

My main goal is to cut finger prints down. But I want as little cutting of the screen image as possible.

Wish I could figure out why people seem to be having issues with Steinheil screen protectors.

Just got one in the mail, Ultra Fine, for my XOOM. Cleaned the screen, washed my hands, and applied it in just a few minutes time. The only challenge I had was getting rid of a couple of stubborn bubbles. Otherwise this install was smooth... just like the install I did on my Droid X several months ago.

For me, at least, Steinheil screen protectors FTW!

First post here guys :D

Got the Steinheil Ultra-fine in the mail, should be here this week or maybe next!

When it gets here, i'll try and take a few pics with my Canon G10 before and after with different screen shots so you can get a good look at it!

Some awesome info about the Xoom and all sorts of other stuff on here :D

ETA

Sorry for the poor update guys, got it in today, spent a good amount of time cleaning the screen off with alcohol and lint free cloths (as well as the microfibre cloth) but even with the dust removal stickers, after about 3 seconds there were dozens of specs of dust.

I CAN say even with a white background it looked pretty good when I did get it on (aside from all the bubbles created by dust) with a VERY small amount of color distortion (almost non noticeable when you're reading text)...

I took it off and put it back on the plastic shield, maybe I can try and re-attempt somewhere that has somewhat clean air....
