The best Facebook app?

I think I tried the Sense widget and/or app back when my phone was stock, and it just took too long to load all the posts and comments up when I opened it, and when I just went to facebook.com with the browser it was much faster. But the problem is it goes to the mobile site by default, and theres a lot you can't do on the mobile site that you can do on the full site. But then if you go to the full site, you are constantly zooming in and out, and then it constantly redirects you to the mobile site.

Is there a really good app for facebook on android?

I would be ok with the sense app if I didn't end up with all 1000 of my facebook friends mixed in with my contacts. It makes the genius button and smart dialer useless.

I'll try the flow app.

You know, at first I thought I would hate having all my facebook contacts mixed in with my phone contacts too, but now that they are I don't mind it. Which surprised me.

Flow looks like it might be nice, thanks Doogald. I don't know why the official FB app can't seem to get it right. Flow seems to be more on track, that is if the dev keeps tending it and updating it. I the official app wouldn't display some photos that ppl have posted but Flow had no problem. I saw the mention of Bloo in the description I think. Is this the old Bloo app retooled and renamed? I used to like Bloo until it started randomly not including some ppl's posts. Anyway, I will try Flow out for awhile and gladly pay the upgrade price if I like it.

I have tried tweetdeck, seismic, flow and the fb app.

I like the look of the fb app by far but why the hell can't interval notifications work?? That's so incredibly annoying. Their FB page says it's only supported with 2.2 devices which is silly because all others work fine.

Flow works well but that interface is awful.

Seismic and tweetdeck are okay but limited functionality.

I've just had a look at that. With all due respect, I don't see what it does differently to just loading Facebook on the browser. There are no settings, and certainly no sign of any notifications etc. It just seems to me to be a means of grouping icons together and taking up a bit of screen real estate.

As for Friendcaster, I've been using it for a while and am now looking for something else. It used to be significantly better than the official Facebook app but, as time goes on, Friendcaster (yes, it used to be Flow) seems to be getting worse. They seem to be introducing numerous bugs, unnecessary functionality and bloat, and also they've ditched the App2SD functionality which leaves us with a 9MB+ app in internal memory. The latest bug I noticed is that, with the DEFAULT theme (pointless functionality for a start) when you want to post something the editor gives you white text on a white background!

I've been trying to get Seesmic to work but it seems to be pretty useless too.

It's not a full featured Facebook app, but you should try "Social Advanced." I like it, its kinda cool that it shows you trends from your friends and you can see posts ordered by their popularity. I haven't really seen anything else like it. If you click on a post it will take you to the mobile facebook page for it so you can like it or whatever.

Its not a Facebook replacement and the ads kinda suck but you can pay $0.99 for more features and to get rid of the ads. Its worth it for the cool features tho. Just search "Social Advanced Lite"
