I don't know how to set permissions. And I restarted my phone already. Maybe the problem is because of the permissions? Can you show my how to set the correct permissions?

My phone's stuck at the boot screen now after changing the permission for /system/lib/hw using this site: SwiftDroid

for camera

Open Root Explorer and Move the two files from the sd card to /system/usr/keylayout by long press the file and selecting move from the menu that appears then find the folder above and mount the folder as read/write and selecting paste at the bottom of the screen then long press the file again this time select permissions and change the permissions of both files to look like this.

for accelermeter

Open Root Explorer and copy the file
3. Go to /system/lib/hw and paste the file into there (If it doesn't work, tap 'Mount R/W' in the top right corner)
4. Restart the phone

permissioms should look like this

user (read)
group (read write excute)
others (read excute)

to set permissions press button at top of root explorer (mount r/w)
then find the file u want to set permssions on long press it and u will see the option (permissions)

if ur stuck on boot u will have to wipe the cache if u recovery installed follow this link an install it as recovery an u will have 2.3.3 with the fixes :) http://narod.ru/disk/7153195001/2011-03-09.19.42.26.zip.html

You may have set the permissions wrong.. Here's how to reinstall whilst keeping your data:

1. Boot into recovery

2. Navigate to backup & restore>backup. This will take a while.

3. Boot into fastboot and reinstall SwiftDroid

4. Boot back into recovery and navigate to backup & restore>advanced restore>restore data>select the backup you made in step 2>yes

5. Reboot the phone and your phone should be back to normal :)

This is why you should backup before you modify any system files. Follow the instructions in the blog post again making absolute sure that you've done everything correctly as it says :D

After I restored, it got stuck at the boot screen again.

I'm confused now. and how do you restore system apps like Market? I used every advance restore option but "Restore System". Still can't get them back.

+ Should I upgrade to 2.3? Is it buggier than 2.2 or is it better?

every rom has bugs but i think u should upgrade to this latest 1 it comes pre installed with the fixes im using it an i find it very good

the restore thing i could never restore just data from restore i backup my apps with titamium backup an restore them with that try the recovery link i mentioned earlyr u be sorted then

I'm trying to update to 2.3 but on the cmd thing, it says "waiting for device" and it wouldn't read my phone. My computer wouldn't read my phone either. I'm running win xp and I installed the drivers already.

It's the same process as installing 2.2, put the phone in fastboot mode by holding the camera button and powering on the phone, keep holding the camera button till the screen is blank. Then connect the phone to the PC

I was on fastboot. But my computer doesn't recognize my phone.

I used my bro's computer to do it. Now I'm running 2.3 and I changed the language to English but some of the apps are still in Russia.

Never mind. I rebooted and now everything works. Just need to install all my apps again. Good thing I made a list of apps I have on my computer :)
