Class action law suite for Youtube app disfunction

We are organizing a class action law suite for the failure of the Youtube app service and HTC/Verizon/Google doing nothing about it. Everyone paid for this app and function and this service interruption which is estimated to last for MONTHS will not go unpunished.

This is currenlty affecting Eris users and maybe Sprint Hero users as well.

Give me a break. The day is young, but this is the most ridiculous thing I've read so far. Congratulations.

And you wonder what's wrong with this country? Produce something. Do something constructive. Or become a lawyer and sue everything you can get your hands on. This is disgusting. Did you buy it so you would have something to sue about?

I get that a lawsuit won't work and all that...but geezus, you don't have to jump down this throat and act so smug about it. ugh.

Maybe (?!) he is just frustrated that this pre-installed app just STOPPED working and no one gives a rats a-ss? It's pretty messed up and half of the Eris users don't even care if it's there or not...there are many others who use(d) it all the time.

Calm down everyone, we're not in high school.

You have no right to youtube. Seems reactionary at best.

Why not? The phone was advertised with having a "pre-installed" stock Youtube app where you can view "high-quality" videos...and well, um....it worked perfectly fine, and now it just doesn't.

Obviously, a class-action lawsuit is not going to work...BUT, I get where the OP is coming from. This is bull-s--it.

i know the app doesn't work, but my browser fully supports youtube.com and plays its videos. so what yours basically saying is your upset with the application when you can just click browser or google search youtube and have the website right there thats fully fuctional

I GET that some Eris users don't really use/watch Youtube...but I don't know how many times to explain that the browser version does not show the videos in anywhere close to as good quality as on the APP version. The view in "high quality" option in the app was very, very good, nothing close to that in the mobile/browser version..

Don't you think we'd just do that then instead of complaining about it?

Does anyone else find humor in a guy with Napster as his user name filing a law suit? Just hit my funny bone I guess.:D

Seriously though, it is an app that is having problems. The update may have changed something that HTC overlooked in their testing. A lawsuit, class action of not, won't really accomplish anything. By the time it actually made it into a court room the problem will more than likely be resolved and the lawsuit rendered moot. The only thing this really accomplishes is wasting other peoples time and money. If the problem is not resolved by the Jan 22nd update, then consider a round of complaints to HTC and see where that gets you. When all that is done the 2.1 OS will be out and it will once again have a chance for resolution. If, at that point, you are still not able to use youtube consider a law suit. For now, if you actually want to accomplish anything, contact tech support or customer service @ HTC like ChrisC did.

Lawsuits aren't the best way. File petitions, send certified letters to top officials... lawsuits just tie up the already overwhelmed court systems for silly things. The original poster said "Everyone paid for this app and function...", but I don't agree. No one paid for that application nor it's function. That was an added feature.

What is the problem with it anyway? I never use it, but because of this thread I just opened it and was able to play several videos from what it offered. Is it just the Eris that has this problem?

While you are at it can you also file one for the Microsoft Exchange Email app that come with the phone. That does not work 100% either.

Exactly - Oh, can you also sue google or yahoo for not coordinating to get YMAIL or Yahoo! mail to work on Android?

Oh, can you sue the Barcode Scanner app developer because it doesnt always register what you are scanning?

I think it should be called a classless action lawsuit, seems more fitting to me

No, some people would still complain.
