Trying to unroot phone

Upvote 0
Just wondering why you want to unroot?

I can't decide if I want to root my Hero, the only reason I would do it is if it increased speed and I don't know if there would be enough improvement

I was thinking the same thing before I rooted my phone.. I finally decided to do it and don't regret it one bit.. I deleted all of the apps I didn't need, then put Fresh1.1 on and with Pre-Kitchen available now, it's all so easy..

You'll defiantly pick up speed, but the most noticeable thing for me is that the battery lasts forever with all that crap not running in the background...

It's really fairly straightforward and simple and you have to really screw something up to brick your phone..

  • Added: ES File Explorer 1.2.5.1 (i’m liking it a lot more than astro)
  • Updated: wifi tether from 1.6 pre-3 to 1.6 final
  • Updated: busybox to remove color codes (thanks to obelisk, I didn’t know this existed)
  • Updated: ad-less browsing hosts file (dec 22)
  • Updated: ensured that all files matched what they are in the most up-to-date RUU
  • Modified: removed the “lock” image from the left screen and left it totally blank (as voted on here. if the lock screen is still showing your old wallpaper then there is a tool in the pre-kitchen to clear the cache).
  • Modified: espresso inspired rosie (light blue highlights)
  • Modified: espresso inspired dialer (light blue highlights)
  • Modified: battery icon
  • Modified: re-optimized and zipalign’d apk’s after several changes to them
  • Modified: signal icon
  • Modified: removed “Sprint” from the lockscreen
  • Modified: removed the 800

to unroot, I did this. turn off phone the hold volume down and power button. when in bootloader press volume up... you should see FLASHUSB in red plug usb cable in and run the RUU that shoud bypass the error 171. let me know if that works.

I tried and I dont see FLASHUSB instead I see FASTBOOT USB and i get error 170,,sorry for this bein such a s.o.b.

My Mistake after you hold down the volume down and power button (to get into the bootloader) pres volume up and you will see FASTBOOT in red thats when you will plug in your USB cable and run the RUU and it should Flash the stock ROM back on to your phone.
