Haptic Feedback

I currently am a Verizon user anxiously waiting on the Nexus One to hit my network, but I had a question for users that currently have the phone.

Is it possible to turn off the haptic feedback and how do you do that?

I used to have an LG Versa and the haptic feedback drove me absolutely crazy.

Any first impressions/pros and cons of the Nexus One would also be appreciated.

Settings -> Sound & Display -> Haptic Feedback

It drives me nuts too. I blame the Samsung Instinct. Whenever I'd hit a button the thing would vibrate with force great enough to excite a hooker.

how do i turn it on for the keyboard on the n1? when i go to the home screen and access settings > sound > haptik feedback it has a check mark but the item is greyed out, i cant check or uncheck it, and when i press keys it doesnt vibrate

I haven't got a phone in front of me now, but I think you can do it from the keyboard settings. Press the cog symbol on the keyboard and go from there. Sorry if this is incorrect...

Feedback about the N1 can be found in one of the many threads in this forum. I was listening to the interview with Product manager for the N1, Erick Tseng, where he was asked about how the Verizon phone would work. While he said they are currently talking with VZW, it might be one of those arrangements where VZW won't subsidize the phone using their carrier plans. So, you'd buy a CDMA version available for VZW @ $530 and pay for a 2-yr contract to use data and voice. It was a very weird conversation and I don't know how that would work or jive with consumers. What it does do is open the door for VZW to subsidize the next HTC Sense phone (Eris successor).
