Anyone in the UK got their Nexus One yet?

Just wondering if anyone had their phone yet? Keen to hear about the whole order and shipping experience as well as the ultimate "Is Multi-touch enabled" question. I know there is another UK-centric thread regarding phone costs and delivery but I was thinking this thread may be a bit more relevant now. Any links to videos of UK unboxing and reviews would be appreciated too.
Cheers,
Mark

Mark, you are so impatient! I bet you'll have yours on Tuesday. Then I'll hunt you down and steal it and let you know whether the version shipped to UK is different to US.

Oh, but then again, on the official Google support page for the N1, a Google employee did say that they are currently shipping the same phone to the UK as they are to US customers, so I'm not going to hold out much hope for it having added features.

On the other hand, you might get UK-specific updates that would add the functionality. If the UK shipped version even has the extra function. I am still waiting on a release date. "Few short weeks" grumble grumble.

Leave me alone. Lol!! I doubt I'll get mine on Tuesday. Don't try to wind me up now. I'm trying to contain my excitement. I swore I wouldn't get too worked up about my N1 arrival.
I hope something comes out soon on the UK release to try and ease your pain.
I am very impatient by the way, I done well to lat a few days after release before ordering the phone. **Pats himself on the back**.

I've had some interest in my Hero, but all the emails i get are from people from nigeria, who want me to email them a postage receipt before they pay me, i mean come on :(
Lol. Those are classics! I had so many emails from Nigeria when the Xbox 360 launched and I was selling some on eBay. Naughty Naughty Nigerians!

from what ive been reading all over these and other forums, the N1 has multitouch capability, just the default software/apps dont support it yet - legal stuff? I believe there are already apps/browsers etc in the marketplace that use multi touch-possibly "dolphine browser, not sure thou.
i dont actually have it but this is the gist from many different threads :)

I received my N1 yesterday morning and it doesnt have multi-touch enabled at the moment. I have set it up with O2 as the carrier and have to say im very impressed. I havent installed dolphin yet but will be doing so later today..so will report back
Thanks for the response sonicphate. How come you received it on a Saturday? I didn't think DHL delivered on a Saturday.
Can you give us a run through of your delivery experience, what date did you order and where did the phone travel through?
Is everything working in terms of 3G signal coverage?

I received it on friday but missed DHL so i asked to collect it from there drop off point. I ordered the phone on the 7th and it was shipped the same day. It arrived on the 9th. I was so excited i tracked the parcel through California, cinncinati and detroit and then to the uk, west midlands and through to manchester.
After putting the correct settings in for o2 i have had no problems with the 3g connectivity at all. I have found that its actually better than my iPhone around manchester

That sounds pretty good then. Did your information update on google checkout to say the parcel had shipped on the 7th?
I have heard stories of people getting their parcels without the status updating at all on the checkout page!
Actually, thinking about it, you must have got a tracking email at some point early on!
I'm going to put my Vodafone sim in my N1 as my contract runs till June. After that I might look at O2 on PAYG if the 3G signal is good in my area.

ah nice one sonicphate! did DHL give any indication of what VAT/handling charges might apply, or is it a case of "wait for our invoice"? hope you have fun with your new gadget (I cannot believe I'm being so nice when inside I'm FUMING!!)

Unfortunately i am going to have to wait for the invoice from DHL... They couldnt provide me with any details on charges from the drop off office either. As far as the o2 settings are concerned....

I went into network settings and then APN and set up two new APNs the first for 3G only...

Name o2
APN mobile.o2.co.uk
Username vertigo
Password password
MCC 234
MNC 10

Leave all the other entries blank. Save that APN and create another called o2 mms:

Name o2
APN mobile.o2.co.uk
Username vertigo
Password password
MMSC http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
MMS proxy 193.113.200.195
MMS port 8080
MCC 234
MNC 10

I have received MMS and a great 3G signal since getting the device. If anyone needs help with UK APNs from any other network let me know..

The updates were very transparent. The google ones stated where the status of the order was up to and then provided the dhl tracking one.. When i was at the DHL office one of the ladies in there had said that my phone was the second to arrive in manchester and that had also taken two days from point of pickup

That is tremendous service but maybe you were one of the lucky ones based on rumblings from other UK (and US) buyers.
The VAT/import sting will be sore when it comes I think. Hopefully the import duty won't apply, that'll soften the blow.

"Hope you have fun with your new gadget"? That was soooo contrived. LOL.

Nice, I will be using the settings you posted when I finally take the plunge as I'm on o2 at the moment, but will be taking out one of their simplicity with free unlimited internet bolt-on. Wish I could ask them to take some of the minutes and texts off and make it
