I wonder how long the trial will last or if this leak is without expiration...they(Swype) have no intention of selling it on the market or to individual consumers, but rather to manufacturers/carriers for them to pre-install it on new devices. I will be sad when/if this stops working, I've grown attached lol

If they get to a point where you can use a stylus, then I will be happy. My big fingers have issue with the swype typing. I like it, but I need to see where I am going/stopping.
Part of the beauty of swype is that for the most part you shouldn't need to be so precise that you need to hit every letter exactly. I get close to the ones I want and most of the time it guesses what I wanted correctly.

I feel bad asking this, but I won't have time to install it until tomorrow.

Can you set it to replace only one type of keyboard? Say the portrait mode one, but keep the android keyboard in landscape mode?

No, but switching between them is very easy, if you are using Swype and want to switch to the default Android keyboard just long press in the text field where you are typing, tap "Input method" and select the keyboard you wish to use. It is simple and quick to do. :)

This isn't a "trial version".

Fear not. As long as HaXoRs are alive (i hate those guys ;) ), you'll have Swype on a DROID. :D

I have seen some posts/articles calling it trial others calling it leaked....

I really wish they would sell it, I really do not support pirating and always buy apps that are available for purchase and donate to developers of free apps. But as hot as this is and as fast as it's spreading, Swype should sell this in the Market and try to get some bucks out of the peeps like me who would pay for an official version. I installed it thinking that it was a trial or leaked beta and an official version would be available for purchase later. Now if they never offer it to consumers I will have guilt for using it.....but I admit, probably not enough guilt to make me uninstall it :p

I agree 100%. This morning I hacked the gallery to be multi-touch, but I bought an app from the market anyway. I have donated to several devs for their free apps. And I would GLADLY pay for Swype. It's a great app!

Note that you can adjust the sensitivity of the keyboard so that it is more or less forgiving...I've left it at default, but having the option to adjust that is really nice.

One feature that I can't get to work is removing words from the dictionary.

When I type 2 it always defaults to "2moro" as the first choice. Supposedly you can remove words by highlighting them and selecting the Swype button on the keyboard, but that doesn't work for me. Anyone else?

I'm w/ ya. The Android Market is very fair in terms of pricing and if something is worth it, I'll pay or donate.

Now, I'm not positive on this, but I was under the impression that Swype wanted us to have this, kinda like beta testers. And it's generated plenty of buzz for them. Maybe someone else can tell us for sure.

Thanks for the help. Will try it in portrait mode. Not sure i want to use it in landscape, as i'm not sure how well it will work with two thumbs. ;)
