Cracked Screen.....

Well, my wifes screen cracked on her Eris. And get this......it was from wiping it off on her shirt. She simply wiped it on the front of her shirt and now there are like 4 long cracks from the bottom right up to the top left. You can see some liquid seeping out also. She didn't wipe it hard, either. I'm wondering if the Eris kind of "twisted" while wiping and that caused it to crack. Now if you twist it a bit it creaks.

The cracks seem to be on the interior of the screen, and you can't feel them on the face of the screen.

Is the Eris that delicate that the screen can crack wiping it on your shirt??? Very dissapointing. I suppose I'll have to end up dishing out $89 for a crappy refurbished one from Assurion. Uggghhhhh. :( :( :(

I'll take pics when I can.

It didn't have any screen protecter on it, as the screen is glass.....Here are some pics. The weird thing is....it's not the glass screen that's cracked. It's whatever is underneath it. There are NO cracks in the glass. It's still perfectly smooth and intact. But look at what happened.......:(

So 8.00 a month (96.00/yr.) and a 90.00 deductible. How much is a new Eris? 200? I don't see how it's worth it to pay for the insurance, I'll just take my chances.

The Eris is $470 if you buy it without a contract. You are not eligible for new contract pricing for 20 months, if I am not mistaken.

Or, with an early termination fee of $350 minus $10 per month that you've had the contract, you pay the fee and then get a new one with a new two year contract for $100, I suppose, if they will let you do that.

Insurance, insurance, insurance...

I pay like $8 a month through Verizon. I have no idea what it covers, though. I guess I'll have to look into that.

Shouldn't everyone has a right to universal phone coverage? I mean, after all, communication is essential to everyday life, and freedom of speech is a right. Seems like the government should be guaranteeing our right to phone care...

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Even glass screens need a screen protector. Glass does scratch, badly. People keep believing the myth that glass screens don't scratch.

hopefully some of the higher end phones will start getting sapphire crystal displays at some point and it won't only be ultra-luxury brands like Vertu. sapphire can still scratch (it's happened to a couple watches i've owned) but very unlikely. then again, i guess it's a bit ridiculous on phones people will only carry for a year or two.
