Help new extreme battery drain!!!! Not your average everyday Hero drain

This is not the same old battery drain issue the Hero has always had. I have the GPS and WI-FI off and my battery is draining at an alarming rate. I have the advanced task killer installed from the marked and am using it regularly. I am going to settings "applications" and "running services" and turning off everything I can think that would be causing this. All of this started since yesterday when I got a message to install an OTA update. I did and since then I can almost watch my battery life disappear. Sprint Zone was modified in this update and I have even changed the settings so that all options were off except one. Nothing I have tried has helped.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have noticed that with my HERO and when I got the EVO. It seems to only happen when I am late in paying my bill tho. Any other time the bill is paid on time the battery lasts all day, however when I'm late and get the reminder text my battery will go from 100% down to 15% in less than 4 hours. I'm not sure if Sprint can do that or not, but I started keeping a record after I was late twice in three months. The first month after the text from sprint it drained within 4 hours, the second month the bill was paid on time and the battery barely drained for that month, and the third month after I received the text from sprint it drained again within 4 hours.

Haha. That is a new one that I have never heard. :D

Paying your bill on time or not has nothing to do with your battery life. It is most likely just some coincidence. The only way I could even fathom Sprint being able to drain your battery faster would be if they cut your service and it just kept on searching for a signal. However, I really doubt that is what is going on in your case. ;)

This made me chuckle. :)
