Help "Phone Storage Space Is Getting Low"???

My phone says Phone Storage Space Is Getting Low but TaskPanel says I have 60mb free???

Am I missing something?

Each application has specific amount of memory set aside on the ROM. If an application begins to come close to this limit you will start to see the low memory warning.

To permanently resolve this issue, move apps to the SD Card instead of phone. The key is how to do it without using apps such as Apps2SD which require rooting your Android phone. You do not want to potentially void the warranty on your phone now. Found this detailed article on how to do this.

Been banging my head at it for almost two months now. Finally resolved my issue

Phone... I think the apps2sd WITHOUT rooting is not capable on the NON-ROOTED official version of Android which Sprint has on the Hero. Lol... I'm not positive, but pretty sure this is the case.

Anyway, search always first, there's tons of information here that'll answer your questions. The limits will come prior to exceeding available memory just due to too many apps being loaded on the phone. Also, working with the Application Manager in Settings will go far to releasing used memory and contrary to belief this will not be cleared when SOFT booting the phone. You have to go in there and clear out memory/cache. Be extremely careful if you try to clear "DATA" as it will wipe information from apps or render them useless. I am rooted so have the luxury of using an app like cachemate which automates the process. Otherwise I would suggest clearing the browser cache, photo's, and mail to name a few. Those will eat up some memory in the form of cache pretty fast. Also, go into setting in the browser and lower the cache size.

I don't know if this will clear your error, but thought it might help.

Regards,
:)

What does being rooted mean/entail?

Basically, in a nutshell, it gives you access to everything on your handset's internal storage. This includes system files that are normally not accessible.

Rooting lets you have more control over what you can do with your handset because you can do deeper customization in the form of flashing ROMs, and running root only apps. If you want to be on the latest version of Android, then you need to root.
