what i did to get 3.0.24 was i downloaded the file and i open up cwm folder and deleted the file name recover, and name the 3.0.2.4 recovery and put that one in my cwm and doing the step to install cwm i had the new cwm, didnt use rom manager to do it.
think thats what I tried to do, except I did it thru rom manager. I amed the 3.0.2.4 to the 3.0.0.5 but it still says cwmr is 3.0.0.5 and rom manger is 3.0.1.4.

what step was it u did to install?

what i did was flash to stock first, cause when you flash to stock it also delete the current cwm also, if you want to just backup your current rom, than flash to stock using the recovery script, than you can run backup once you install 3.0.2.4.

3) Connect the phone to the computer via USB and make sure the drivers are installed. Turn the phone off and wait until the battery screen comes out after the Huawei logo then press and hold Volume DOWN, End Key, and Power Button You should see the Huawei logo. Leave the phone like that and move on to the computer.

4) Open the CWM Recovery folder that you downloaded. Find and Run the fastboot- file according to your OS. Extract all if necessary. One you run it, you should get a black window that disappears immediately. Phone may still be at the Huawei screen. Then Run the install-recovery- file according to your OS.(If there is any command prompt problems or the pc says waiting for device,go into control panel/sys/device manager and find android 1.0 right click and update driver.)

5)Once it is done, unplug USB cable and take out the battery for 10 seconds and try to get into recovery by turning phone off and pressing and holding Volume Up, Call key, and Power until the black Clockwork screen comes out. Keep those buttons pressed until the clockwork mod screen comes out..Check to see if Clockwork is at version 2.xxx. If it is showing version 3.xxxx, select reboot system now and PM me about it. You can not move further. However, if it is showing version 2.xxx, move on to the next step.

do you have the files on your memory card, also take out your battery for 10 secand put it back in and make sure your memory card is inserted properly and restart fastboot method.

I have gapps and cm7 .zips on sd card with other folders from Icarus 1.0.

It says to connect a USB to a PC which I did but no file transfer pops up on the PC.

The next step says: "open cwm folder previously dl/d and: run the install-recovery file according to os (for windows .bat)" I already had cwn (from Icarus 1.0) on my phone but have no clue as where to find this folder.

I guess without Jazz's beginner instructions I should have never attempted this. Hopefully my phone doesn't run like shit after this. :(

Could I skip these completely if I have CWM v2.5.1.8?

"connect usb to pc

open cwm folder previously dl/d and: run the install-recovery file according to os (for windows .bat)"

I've got it downloaded just in case I will need it for later. V2 seemed to work ok but only time will tell.

Now I just have to restore missing apps and data.

some people have not gotten camera to work with 2.1.5.8 but it seems to work 90% of the time. if nothing after you flash you can use rommanager (came with the flash) to update to 3.0.2.4 or 3.0.0.5 they also work.

I am with Cricket and flashed both CM6 and CM7, different gapps. I had no problems with 7 but with 6 for some reason when i try to log into the market it responds "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server"."This could be a temporary problem or your phone is not provisioned for data services". I tried re flashing and got the same result. I tried airplane-mode, re flashing rom and gapps, fixed permissions, reboot, 3G and WiFi. Everything else works, browser, Facebook, etc. with 3G and WiFi, so that should mean that my phone is provisioned for data services. Also i did not see a cricket/metro setting like Icarus, so i am at a dead end right now. Am i missing a setting or a step?

The data is on, but when you did flash CM6 did you use the CM7 gapps? I read on a thread over at prepaidandroids that it was causing people problems doing that. If you were able to have it work properly maybe i could use it? If so do i need to do a full wipe or just re flash the gapps?

Update: Flashed Build 5C just now and the market works, guess it was just a bug.

I want to flash CM6 to see if it runs smoother on my phone than CM7 has. I lost my Gallery and File Manager apps with Audio Manager (Hidden App). Do I need to find these apps before flashing or with CM7 take care of it?
you'll have to wipe all to flash cm6 so u shouldnt have those issues on it. If you go back to cm7 start fresh n after you get it basically setup make a backup b4 installing other apps that can break things ;)
