WHY THE F*** doesn't the gmail app show me ALL my GD emails?

I have X message in my gmail on my PC, when I view it on this stupid phone, I can't see all my emails.

Pretty pissed off right now, cause rather than getting the info I PAY for, I had to drive all the way home to use my PC in order to get info I needed while I was OUT.

I'm usually a lot more helpful to posters that don't imply vulgariy in their titles/posts. You can type what ya want ... I just don't think it's going to be as well received. Just sayin...

you could have went to the mobile website, m.gmail.com and skipped the trip home.

You can also change how many days mail is synced for your account. You could change it to sync all mail for the label Inbox instead of 4 days which I think is the default.

And you can easily search for older messages with the gmail app as well, lots of options if you stop cursing and start thinking.

You're familiar that your phone does have a web browser right? And you're also familiar with the fact that your GMail app has a "Search" function, so you can search for what you're looking for because presumably, you know what you're looking for. But you know, this topic has probably been tackled before and you still posted, so I'm guessing you don't know how to use a Search function. This obviously goes beyond the question of why you'd WANT your entire mailbox on your phone. But you know... dems all silly questions!!!!

Just curious...are you expecting to see multiple Gigabytes worth of emails that are archived all on your phone? It would seem pretty stupid to use up Gigabytes of space on the phone for all those old archived emails.

The issue was with emails that were from 2-3 days ago.
They were completely skipped in my listing on the droid gmail app.

I.e:

In gmail on my pc
Email 1
Email 2
Email 3
Email 4
Email 5

In gmail app on my droid
Email 1
Email 3
Email 5

I have noticed this as well, although I didn't drive all the way home to get them, I just went into View Labels and clicked on All Mail and the missing mail showed up. Still haven't figured out why some messages show up and other don't when you just have Inbox selected.

Just FYI, Google is moving away from their 'app' and back to the mobile online.. so m.gmail.com is going to be the prefered method of checking emails soon.

People need notifications for new mail on their devices, having to constantly check the web for new email will not be well received by smartphone users.

I have two folders on the exchange server that I keep work related emails in. They'll have software serial numbers and stuff like that in it. The mail is several months old. I'd love to be able to still access them like I did with my windows mobile phone. Don't want to keep the serial numbers on the phone, just in case I lose it, since they're site licenses.

I think i may have noticed this, since I was looking for an email from a day or so ago and couldn't find it....so i searched a keyword and there it was. Could it be you just didn't remember the exact subject line or that it was archived or that it was labeled and archived. You can go into all mail and you will see everything that has been archived as well. Remember search is your friend.

Pretty sure the post you refer to said getting notifications on the device, not that they shouldn't have to go to the web to see the message. I don't care *where* my phone goes to SHOW me my message, but I do care that it tells me I have a message to view instead of me having to go and manually check for myself.

I like the online site better then the stock app too. That stock app is just fugly.

I don't know about you but my phone chimes and lights up faster than I see it pop in my inbox on my browser.

So if basically Email 1 was something you received, then replied to, then the other party replied to you, you're expecting his/her reply to be Email 2, when in fact Gmail is considering Email 2 as part of the thread that is email 1.

Absolutely...I thought the default indexing was All Mail. Apparently...it isn't. Changing to the All Mail view showed them all. /facepalm LOL
