189MB of phone storage space may seem like a lot, but once you start installing apps, you realize it's nothing. My apps take up a total of 2 (4x4) home screens and I use every single one of them on a daily, if not weekly, basis. Nothing irks me more than when someone tells me of a cool app I should check out so I go to do it, only to be disappointed that it's 3MB pre-installation, therefore rendering me incapable of even just trying it out because I'll get that annoying little "Low on Space" notification.
Now, I'm not going to go into an "I want 2.2 nao!!!" rant; really, the only reason I even WANT 2.2 on my phone is for Apps2SD. But when I go into the Manage Applications settings, and see that Google Maps, an app that came pre-installed on my phone so therefore I can't uninstall it, takes up a whopping 10MB, I get a little irritated. Same with Photobucket, another pre-installed app, which takes up almost 4MB. I don't use ANY of the apps that came pre-installed on my phone and it bugs me to no end I can't uninstall them to free up space and possibly use that space for apps I WILL use. I bet that space would equal about 20MB, maybe more.
I have no "flavor" apps on my phone, unless you consider the Amazon Kindle app one; all of my apps are for school, work and phone management purposes. I just wish us Ascend users didn't have to be so careful about apps and didn't have to keep a watchful eye on our phone storage space all the time.
Anyways, I just needed to vent a little about this to others who I imagine can empathize. This is the only thing that bothers me about my Ascend. Other than this, I'm absolutely in love with my very first Android. How do you guys feel about this and what, if anything, do you do to deal with it?
