Accessories Has the OEM portfolio case scratched your Xoom?

I actually really like the portfolio case, minus the charging design flaw. I read a couple of posts that talk about scratching - one with some detailed pictures.

I think what bothers me the most about the case is how the top flap secures onto the Xoom. The tab issue can be easilly mitigated by just sawing them off - and it's not really a problem for me, because I wouldn't be popping it in and out constantly.

When I get home from work today I'm going to try to shave some plastic off of the top latch (that comes in contact with the side of the Xoom, and lay down some felt tape. Has anybody tried this?

So I filed off the the tabs and the 'A' from the top latch. Instead of felt, I bought rubberized spray paint. Waiting for it to dry as I type.

Paint is all dry and I am very pleased with the results. Now when the galaxy is inserted, it is less of a hard snap and more of a cushioned, snug squeeze....just makes me feel a lot better.

I assume you mean the "Xoom", rather. Good work. Glad it worked our as planned. You should post some pics.

Haha yeah..definately the Xoom. I had a Galaxy a week before I got the Xoom and promptly returned it. I need the latest and greatest.

As for pictures, you actually can't even tell that I did anything. I went to Home Depot and bought a product called 'Plasti Dip' for around $6. It's black and adds a rubberized coat to whatever you spray it on. I masked off the portfolio to prevent overspray, and laid down 3 coats 1/2 hour apart. The final product looks identical to a stock portfolio, but when you touch it, it feel much like the soft-touch that's on the xoom itself. It tooke me 1.5 hours with the wait time, but I only spent 5 minutes actually masking/painting. Overall I'm extremely happy with the results.
