I'm having a problem with the clock/weather widget on my Hero. I have it set to Current City and I noticed the other day that the weather wasn't updating. ( I live in Long Beach, CA) It was stuck on one weather. I especially noticed when it still said partly sunny at 11pm. :) It doesn't work even if i try to manually update.
I thought it was just the current city function that was having trouble registering but when I go to other cities nearby it updates fine. And when I specifically set it to Long Beach, CA, it was still stuck and not updating.

Anyone else having this problem? Is there something wrong with the weather equipment in Long Beach?

I'm at a loss.

I agree - the stock weather widget is crap, and I believe is a source of battery drain. Try Weatherbug - it is free, and has a 1 x 2 widget that you can add to the home screen. It will also show the forecast, radar, and give you severe weather warnings.

hmmm.... the stock weather widget is a battery drain but the weather bug widget is not?!?

While the earlier version of weatherbug did seem to drain the battery, the latest version seems quite good, and loads pretty quickly. Yesterday, I unplugged a little before 8 am and still had 45% on my stock battery at about 9 PM. That is after a couple dozen texts, about 60 emails, and an hour on the phone, plus surfing and some Facebook updates.

Hi I may have the answer. I dont know if you people in the states have age restriction slapped on by sprint (not able to look at betting sites etc). My carrier in the UK does. Anyway look at this thread I started and look at the outcome (thread #12) My problem was solved AND my weather widget now works.

I live in Long Beach myself and started having problems with my weather app a few months ago. I did a hard reset for a texting issue and this didn't fix my weather app problem.

Then I took it in to my Sprint service center for the "dust" under the glass and for the paint coming off the hang up button. The service center gave me another phone which, still didn't fix the weather app problem.

Every other problem is now fixed except this so... I just downloaded The weather channel app and I love it. Then weather channel app gives you more options and flexibility than the stock weather app. I can set multiple cities (since I travel alot) and it gives me alerts for inclement weather.

Check it out and see if you like it.

I dowloaded and installed Weatherbug and had the same problem with the GPS. I uninstalled it, re-installed but when the GPS prompt came up - don't remember the exact wording -but I chose no. After that, no GPS always being on and it updates like it's supposed to. I really, really like it.
I do wish there was a way to change the appearance of the widget, though. Thanks to COMOEd who initially suggested it! Much, much better than the stock app.

Personally, I like the HTC weather widget and was very satisfied with it until... Recently upgraded to new version of Android and then it quit updating. I notice that under settings, the "Update automatically" checkbox never keeps the green check even after I activate it.

Has anybody found a solution to this???

Thanks!

I am still running 1.5 and the HTC weather works great. I have compared the temp from several citys to the reading from weather underground and they are very close. Once I figured out how to add citys that were not on the list it got even better. I had given up on the HTC weather but could not find anything else I liked so I gave it another chance. Once I figured out how to operate the HTC weather I found it to be great.

Did your problems start when you installed 2.1?
