About the Bravo...

Release date?
HTC's roadmap indicates an April 2010 release date for this. However, Engadget says that the Bravo will be released early in the USA, possibly January 2010 (ie: soon). I don't think it is coming out this month as has been rumored. Engadget is consistently wrong about these things. There is no source for their story. In addition, HTC's roadmap has been uncanningly accurate in terms of product release dates. If they say April 2010. Then, it is April 2010 regardless of the country that 1st has it.

Hardware buttons?
There are hardware buttons in the picture. I suppose there are some that want the hardware buttons gone in favor of touchscreen dedicated buttons. I prefer the hardware buttons myself, but meh. Small point. I'm thinking it's going to have the hardware buttons like it was in HTC's image. The similarity between the HTC Bravo and the HD2 phone for Windows is just purely aesthetics. Nothing more. I think the HTC Bravo will have hardware buttons.

Resolution?
I think the resolution will be less than the Nexus One. Yes, I understand that the HTC leaked info suggest that the Bravo will support a few more video formats that aren't supported in the Nexus One, but so what? The leaked specs also show the Bravo as coming with 802.11a/b, but not 802.11g. The Nexus One has 802.11a/b/g. So, in some ways the Bravo is better than the Nexus One (video formats). And in other ways the Nexus One is better (wifi network protocols). The point is, just because the Bravo will have greater video support does not mean that it will have as high or higher a resolution than the Nexus One.

I believe the resolution on the Bravo will be the standard 320x480. Why? Look at the latest released picture of the Bravo. The clock widget is large. The clock fills the 3.7" screen in only a way that a 320x480 resolution would allow. If the resolution were, for example, 480 x 800, then the clock widget would be much much much smaller. We can, infer, from the picture that the resolution will be 320 x 480, same as the iPhone and Palm Pre.

This thread offers some good discussion. It isn't meant to provide information. Just discourse. Some fodder for thought, if you will. A lot of the posts on other thread are speculation. There is another thread on today about Verizon customers wanting the HTC passion. This is not the same speculative thread. It is only about the HTC Bravo and is not carrier specific.

That's right. I said it. This isn't the same speculative thread like the other one. Did I not make myself clear? The other one is purely speculative bringing forth opinions on info regarding Verizon and the HTC Bravo/Passion. This thread is speculative about the HTC Bravo irrespective of carrier.

HVGA resolution was an early Android limitation. 2.0 opened up support for different resolutions so that limitation is gone. That being said, nobody is rolling out a large 3.7" display with HVGA resolution. The pixelation would be horrible. This phone will be WVGA.

You're foreseeing a 480x320 resolution based on how big you think a clock looks on a picture? LOL.

It's not about how big the clock is, it's about how clear it looks, and you can't discern that based off the pictures floating around here. The pictures themselves are limited in resolution. I can create a 240x160 image and put it on a 480x320 screen, or I can create a 400x240 image and put it on a 800x480 screen, and they'd both take up half the screen, and from a picture of the quality you posted, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two.

Another stupid thread with speculation about rumors. We get to a point with rumors, (such as with the Passion/Dragon/Bravo/Incredible/Etc/Etc), based on other rumors and where now we launch into more rumors based on artist renderings, or fake presentations.

Out of all this, the NexusOne has been the only phone that has stayed the course with it's "leaked" name, and there are STILL people who want to call the NexusOne the Passion?

Thank you. You are right that the Nexus One really is only the only phone amongst the ones listed that even exists. Hence, there is an appropriate subforum for that device.

I would think the moderators wouldn't want to create a forum for every rumored device out there. You'd end up having a bunch of separate forums talking about the same product, and it'd be much simpler to just have it all in one area. Of course, they could call this the HTC Passion/Bravo/Incredible forum, but it'd just be a waste of effort IMO.

I suspect another reason was when the initial rumors started coming out, I think the idea was the Passion was slated for the US but the Bravo was Europe and given that my feeling for this board is that the majority of members are in the US, the forum got named "Passion" to stand for both. Just speculation of course (which is the norm around here).

3 Sweden says it's getting HTC Bravo in March -- Engadget Mobile

The Sweden release date for the HTC Bravo lines up almost exactly when HTC's product roadmap shows that it would. I expect that the Bravo will get pushed back one more month, and be for sale in April in Sweden and worldwide. HTC is almost never wrong with it's product roadmaps.

This suggestion is really unwarranted in my opinion. The last thing this forum needs is strict Nazi moderation. There is a forum open for discussion. And to even suggest to pile a different topic, though semi-related, into a 20+ page thread is gross disorganization.

Orderly constructs should be hoped for in which each thread is relevant to it's topic. The thread that you suggest I post in is a traveshamockery of it's intended title. I am not going to read through 20 pages of info to get the little nugget of info that I choose to facilitate discussion in. Therefore, I give your suggestion the thumbs down.
