Gmail contacts?

How do I sync my phone with only "My Contacts" on my gmail account rather than "All Contacts"? Is this possible?

Hmm... Do you have more than one group setup using www.google.com/contacts ? It seems like a major feature to be missing, but stranger things have happened.

Well I have "my contacts" and "all contacts". I only want "my contacts" to be synced. When I go into people - groups on my phone it says My Contacts (0).

When I press menu I only get the option to add or delete a group.

Do you have the Google contact sync turned on? (You can check by going to Settings > Data Synchronization > Google)

If so, I'm not sure I know enough to help you out. My phone seems to be behaving totally different (i.e., when I go to people > groups, I don't even have a group listed)

Do you by chance have the Android SDK installed so you can take screen shots?

I do have it turned on. I deleted the group I had in there but now when I go into it and hit menu I only have the option to add a group.

On your phone, open the People app. Tap the 3rd icon (Groups), then hit the menu button. Hit Sync Groups and then 'check' the contacts you want sync'd.

I actually had to reset my phone....it works fine now! My contacts/photos were all still saved since it was synced to my google account.

Once you reset the phone, what was required for you to do. Will I be required to re-setup my google email account on my phone?

You're awesome! Now I can even choose "Google" or "Phone" when adding a contact instead of "Phone" as my only choice.
