I love the ERIS and have had it since late November. Over the last few weeks it has been lagging really bad. I have been so busy at work and home that I have not had time to try and get it back to working correctly.

Right now my up time is 32:09:02
Awake Time is 6:25:17 (20%)

I plugged it in to the computer and it is showing 6.89 gb free out of 7.39gb

Anyone have any ideas?

Go into Settings-->Applications-->Manage Applications

If you haven't done so, you should clear the cache of any programs (i.e. browser). Even your Albums can store a great deal of cache. I've found going through and clearing cache will speed up your phone. I do it about once a week. I didn't do it for a couple weeks and cleared over 10mb.

Like the previous poster said, a reboot every other day or so will help too.

bla blah blah blah

anyway

go to the market app and search for spare parts. it's an app, install it, let it run for a day, then go to spare parts and go to battery history. flip through the screens and see what has been using your resources, might show you what is going on.

another known issue I had was sending out a text to like 5 people at once, idk why but it lagged my phone pretty good.

Hey Napster - do you have anything good to say? Wanna sue HTC for marketing a 2 year old CPU?
Im sorry you feel that way but reality does not care if things are good or bad they just ARE in reality.

Reality = It is what it is whether it be good or bad it does not matter.

In this situation I have explained in reality the cause of the lag everyone is experiencing. Whether the explanation results in a negative outcome does not matter since it is the state of reality we are all in.

The Eris has a very old ARM11 CPU design which causes the lag everyone is experiencing. If you perceive this as bad well than thats just tough, it still the reality of things.

Sorry, there is nothing you can do about the lag.

You didn't answer my question. Do you ever have anything good to say? Is your reality that bad? Are you gonna sue HTC?
Again, as I stated before....

My posts provide an outcome which is neither good or bad...they simply provide the state of reality which we are currently in. It is YOU who perceives the information posted as positive or negative.

Please reread the statment in bold as it is a quintessential point to understanding how our reality works.

This is amazing. I remove the stock HTC digital clock widget from my home screen and replace it with Digital Clock from the Market (which is no longer visible in the market after the update) and my lag is gone!

I've switched it back and forth twice and the lag is only with the stock widget. Wow, it's amazing how one thing can destroy the function of this phone.
