Android wifi app question

Ok This has probably been asked a bunch of times (going to make it a bit specific), but im not looking for a tether app!

Ok I have a Sony TV that has internet capabilities, but I dont want to spend extra money for a usb dongle thing. is there an app where I can connect my TV either to my wifi in my house or use my 3G? either way is fine, but I know quite a few is done by downloading a service on your computer.

Anyways if anyone knows of anything thanks.

The problem is what data does the TV accept from it's internet connection?

You need to post more info about your TV, but I doubt there's an app just to transmit to "any old internet enabled Sony TV"

Mostly this is because I would bet Sony uses some proprietary browser/data format. So while in theory it should be possible, it depends on Sony and what they accept. And going by their record of being unfriendly to open standards, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Also what's the USB dongle thing you're referring to?

See thats what I was thinking, and it is a Bravia. I have found it really only accepts the Sony wifi dongle. so unless I can get what ever is on that and install it on my phone that I will just have to buy it. Its just too specific (and too much money for me). all its doing is connecting to my LAN.

Sony UWABR100 USB Network Adapter Bringing Wireless: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

and just wondering do you know if you can get what ever software is on those, or is there just too much security? not saying I want to send the money just to mess with it (if I had it I might as well use it), its just out of curiosity.

Thanks

That would be a question to ask sony, not on a phone forum.

okay...

I was asking the guy who had the TV who's asking about apps for his internet enabled tv... It's called asking for clarification.

You seem like a cool guy and all -- but that was a "wtf?" comment.

If this thread is bothering you or something maybe you should take a walk around the block and cool off.
