Who's going to be watching it? I definitely will but not shortly after release because it'll be way too crowded. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks and then see it with a friend of mine who's also going to wait. I absolutely hate it when people cause disturbances by trying to scare people, laughing during parts that aren't funny, commenting, and so forth.

I'm hoping that this thread stays more for people who are actually looking forward to seeing it and not people just coming in and saying "Paranormal Activity sucks ass."

I've seen all of the trailers, viral clips, and have talked out how it will probably pan out and the backstory of it with my close friends. It's so exciting!

I enjoyed the first one and even though it was packed I think that added to the experience. As such a suspenseful movie when one person jumps half the audience feels the need and there was an electricity in the air that really enhanced things.

There are a handful of movies coming out (the GF and I like scary movies) this time of year and with our work schedules packed (including a Halloween weekend trip to Sleepy Hollow, NY) I may not be able to see it for a few weeks after its release.

On a side note, I loved that the first one created such an Internet buzz that it forced theaters nationwide to carry it as it wasn't a wide release at the beginning. More movies would do well to find an audience if they tried to create their own buzz.

My closest friend and I are going to see the 1st one again and also see other suspense thrillers and horrors each Friday and Saturday until Halloween. We love getting scared together. I am "netflixing" REC, a Spanish horror movie, and watching it this Friday. Can't wait!

I wish that Paranormal Activity had a different ending other than the 3. I really liked the 1st one because it played on so many different fears. The 2nd one is going to play on more with the inclusion of the baby.

If you guys haven't seen all the trailers for it... you should. Also, you should search for the 10-11 viral clips on Youtube.

I'll take the hit to my masculinity and be completely honest - I'm terrible with horror flicks, especially where there are lots of things that jump out at you. I spilled a drink all over myself while watching The Hills Have Eyes 2 (watching the first one was not a pleasant experience either). :D

That being said, I did get goaded into watching Paranormal Activity and I'm sure my friends will probably get me to watch the next one as well. I actually approved of Paranormal Activity and appreciated the fact that they made a pretty decent flick on a low budget.

Basically... Paranormal Activity 2 is somewhat of an extension of Paranormal Activity. It seems to be that Katie (the girl from the first one) is haunting her sister's family (husband and baby). No one knows why she's there and if she is still possessed by the demon or not. I believe that she still is because she wouldn't purposely try to terrorize her sister's family.

The new factors in #2 is including a baby and a dog. I believe that the dog will be the indication of something unusual going on, just as with the first one with the time slowing down to normal. The baby will become possessed also several times, which definitely plays into the fears of parents.

I can't WAIT til I see it! I love suspense thrillers where they play more on the atmosphere rather than jump scares. I hope this becomes an annual thing because this type of scary movies are definitely my thing. Thank god Saw is finally retiring. Just gore, gore, and more gore.

The original Paranormal Activity is Watch Instantly on Netflix. Some of my girlfriends and I are going to get together this Friday to watch it. It's going to be so much fun. We've never seen it since one year ago.

Exactly. I'm personally a fan of suspense thrillers more than slashing and blood and gore and guts. Some friends of mine are excited to see this but I haven't even seen the first one so I'm looking for input and everyone seems to have a very distinct view on it.

Found a premiere interview this morning and in it the producer, Oren Peli, says he thinks people are here for the 'creepy' as opposed to gore and over the top special effects. I think it depends for sure on what you are looking for and it sounds like people would know whether or not they would be into the 2nd one by knowing about the first. Its a franchise, its not all of a sudden going to be blood and guts, which intrigues me and yup...on a low budget. :D

Oh nope. I'm waiting until after the Halloween rush and going during the morning so the theater is emptier.

I loved this movie, but its the last time I go and watch a horror movie in the cinema, the crowd (kids) completely ruined any tension.

Which is why I usually go to theaters downtown and far away from high and middle schools.

*spoilers ahead*

But along with this thread revival, I burst out laughing when the baby was picked up in the crib. I had just seen the Antoine Dodson video and all I could think about was "He's climbing in yo windows snatchin yo people up!"
