Favorite App so far.... Developers please see link to Announcements above.

I found handcent to be a lot slower than the text app that came with my Fascinate. I really like Firefox browser. I also like App 2 SD, Bible Verse Search (although I really look forward to the Laridian Pocket Bible Android interface, which will mean I can put all of my Bible study material on my Tab), Pandora, Kindle, AppStore. I'm new to the Tab, so I'm looking forward to trying Soundhound, Epocrates and Triage, gStrings Free (guitar, bass, etc. tuner), maybe Best Biking Roads, VTHokiesFans. Now that one of my VT sons has my Fascinate, and his twin has a Tab, I can see them using the Triathlon training apps, iMapMyRide and other cycling training apps, as well as swimming and running related apps. It will be interesting to see what one of them uses on his road trip from VA to CA for a co-op next month. I see so much potential for these things. My biggest issue is that there are too many apps I want to try, then I look at the icon and say "Now which one is this?" ;)

Agreed. I too made the jump from Handcent to Go and I am not looking back (tho one advantage of Handcent is that my notification LED worked perfectly with Handcent while it isn't working too great with Go, same with the LauncherPro dock unread counts). Despite that, the smoothness of Go makes me hesitant to find another.

the only problem that i have with go that i didn't have in handsenct was the ability to turn off vibrate while in a call so when i am holding my phone it dosent make the person i am talking to deff... i haven't looked for the setting since it when to GO pro do you know if that setting became available

Locale - this app is very cool. I have a profile for work, home, my parent's house and a default setting for when none of those are active. Oh and I have one for night time. I get to work and it turns the volume down a bit, changes my 'desktop' image, turns of the wi-fi (so the security guys don't bug out), and it changes my ringtone and volume. At home the Wifi goes on, pictures changes, volume goes up etc. At night I have it turn of all network stuff besides the phone istelf and mutes the sound. It's great. Love it!
I use the Weather Channel and Shop Savvy apps quite a bit too

this sounds exactly what i need ... glad i joined this forum even if its just for this bit of info!!!

I am new to the Android market, just got a HTC Inspire (at&t).
These are the apps I've found so far. If I am being a noob and there is something that is better or you think I should try, please post.

I am using stock music player, browser and pic viewer.

Favorite....the one I just found

"Executive Assistant"
When you unlock your phone, it shows missed calls, texts, emails, facebook, and your tasks through Gtask (or other prefered app).

Executive Assistant - Appventive

Second Favorite,

"anipet Aquarium"
very cool vivid and interactive fish aquarium wallpaper. $1.99

aniPet Aquarium Live Wallpaper - Android app on AppBrain

"Droid Armory", World of Warcraft armory app. You can bookmark your toons to show people a list of all your toons at a glance. I have 13 85's, so it's neat to show 'em off to other WoW players.

WoW Droid Armory for Android | AppBrain.com

"myAT&T" shows minutes, texts, data used.

"Financisto" keeps track of bills.

Financisto - Personal Finance Manager for Android

"GasBuddy" shows where the cheapest gas in your area is.

"Bible" reads the Bible to me at night.

"Shazam" tells you the name of that song that keeps ringing in your head and driving you crazy cause you cant remember the name of it, or who sings it.

"Lyrics App" shows you the lyrics of the song that is playing. I finally know what Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam is saying.

"Pandora" is an online radio station that plays the music you tell it you like.

"Gtasks" syncs with your task list from gmail and works great with
Executive Assistant.

"Friendcaster" for Facebook

"Zedge" and "Android Movies" for ringtones.

Hi everyone,
I have a doubt.. are these applications specific to each version of android OS? In other words, Will applications that work in gingerbread work in froyo too?

yes all that will work in GB will work in froyo but not froyo work in GB yet and then the apps for honeycomb are getting there as well
