Hey Eyebeam,

Know you are swamped right now, but had a small request.

Could you possibly send me the hanging Andy wallpaper you made for Dean with a blue background and resized for a Droid Eris?

eyebeam said:
Sure, I can do that. A few quick Q's - Do you want it as a single screen wallpaper? As a full wallpaper, the dock and clock background will scroll out of position, just so you know. Did you want just a plain blue background, if so dark, light? Or maybe a gradient or texture of some sort?

eghill1125 said:
Either way is fine as far as scrolling or single. I can make both ways work somehow. Would prefer scrolling probably and adjust it from there. Maybe something in dark blue with some other colors lightly scrolled in as a texture. Whatever you come up with would be good..

OK eghill, here you are... Hope this works out for you. Let me know.

Eyebeam, you make some sweet stuff.
I have a request. Can you make a wallpaper with Andy wearing an OKC Thunder jersey? Preferrably the blue one? Thanks in advance.

Alright NNT, let's see if this does it for you... Let me know what you think.

To save it in full 960x800 resolution, use the download button on the linked page or the share button to email it to an address accessible on your phone, then save the attachment. If your phone wont save it full size, or it looks fuzzy, download and save it with a computer, then USB or email the full sized version to your phone.

(Dean - I jumped this one ahead of you because I've done quite a few for you recently. Hope you understand. You're up next. Stay tuned...)

@ Dean -

Alright, yours are finally getting done. Here's the agenda screen one. The calendar screen will be up soon(ish ;)).

Click it ↓

I only notice one little issue....where the top andy is biting is right where the header is...and it looks wrong slightly with agenda floating over the bits...

EDIT: actually I just changed the 'theme' for the widget again...and the one I NOW use actually looks fine now....

top notch work eyebeam :D

top notch...the ONLY thing I notice....both 'backgrounds' need to be about a few pixels wider as the header 'white bar' and a 'date notify' arrow overlap the back JUST slightly by a few pixels..

Do you mean the entire wallpaper backgrounds or the semi-transparent widget backgrounds?

heres what I mean...was then just uploading some pics to show :D

on the left and right edges the 'background' of the widget you embedded into the 'main' wallpaper is just a little too thin...needs to be a bit wider..

perfect eyebeam!! :D

now for my very LAST request...least to do with this 'theme'....any chance on a lock screen with the same wallpaper colour...but with a whole bunch of andys just going nuts...either hitting each other or biting each other on it...they can be small ones, which I think will work if theres like 7 or 8 of them..

Hmmm... I'll think about how to go about this one and try to work on it tomorrow.

And don't taunt me by making me think I'm in the home stretch here... I know you're just laying in wait thinking up new ideas! :D:p;)

BTW - Just so you know, I was joking about being picky. The white lines hanging over the edges would've driven me nuts!

Love the work you do and really appreciate what your doing. I was just wondering how do you resize any image so it can fit perfectly for a htc desire.

Here's how I answered this question for someone who emailed me quite a while ago -

Ok, here's the easiest way (I think) to do what you want. For your phone a wallpaper should ideally be 960wx800h. For a single screen 480x800.

Lets use this pic as a test run of what I do. Save this -
http://www.portwallpaper.com/imgwal/red-mirrored-room.jpg

Ok - Now go to .: Sumo Paint 3.5 :. (This is the online image editor I like best).

Go to > file > open from my computer, and find and select the above jpeg. This will not be in the correct size, obviously. Now go to the image menu > image size. Since it's clear that you will have excess width, let's not worry about that yet. Check the "constrain proportions" box, and set the height from 768 to 800. This will change the image size from 1024x768 to 1066x800, the correct height for your phone. From here, you could start cropping width to try to get it to the right size, but a much easier way is to go to the select menu, select all, then the edit menu and copy. Now go to the file menu and hit new image and in the box that pops up set the width to 960 and the height to 800. Next go to edit > paste, and your done. To save use the file menu the save to my computer and save as jpeg or png.

I know this sounds like a lot, but trust me, it's much easier that it was to describe. ;) If you need any further clarification, just let me know.

Of course, you can do the same thing on any image editor. The key here is really on the initial resize. Constraing the proportions, and finding out whether to make the size according to height(800pixels) or width(960pixels). Remember, choose which one so that there's extra of the other, thus filling the entire new image.

I never heard back from him, so I'm not sure if this was clear and/or helpful or not. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.

Thank you very much. This helped alot. I was confused at first on how to make the picture look clean after resizing the image i wanted, but i was able to work it out by trial and error. From my understanding, you can't just resize any image and expect to get the same perfect image, thus you must crop the picture and leave out some stuff,. Correct me if I'm wrong lol. Thanks again!

awesome :D I can't wait to see what you've come up with...

and actually no I think im pretty set for awhile now :D you gave me a great wallpaper to hide that clock format issue...you've also given me an excuse to use wigetzoid more...as I can 'hide' the widgetzoid icons on screen to have them in my notification bar BUT that would mean again another empty ugly space....well now theres an andy there :p

awesome work :D

Glad I could help, even if I wasn't completely clear. I taught myself what I know about this stuff, so it's kinda difficult for me to explain clearly how I do things.

As for getting a "clean" image after resizing - yes, that's very likely to be an issue if you're starting with a smaller, low resolution base image. However, I've had great results when starting with larger (even much larger), high-res images, using the method detailed above. If you're also using SumoPaint, make sure when you select the new size that the "Smoothing" option is checked.

Also, yes, some cropping is almost always necessary. The reason I use the "empty frame" method above is that it lets me retain as much of the original as possible. This way I can also move the image around in the new frame to center the part of the image I want (only either height or width, whichever has extra).

I hope the helps to clear things up some.
