You guys have been great in helping other new people on here and I was hoping that you would be that kind to me as well. Here is my problem. I am coming to you via BB Tour. I had a ton of pictures saved on my SD card and now I want to take all those pictures and put them on the SD card on my new EVO. I have plugged both phones into my computer and tried that with just one picture to see if it would work and I could not find the picture that I moved. Can someone please give me some step by step insturctions on this? Also while I have you guys attention for a moment I am also having problems hooking up the hot spot. My computer is saying that it is reading it and says it is connected but when I pull up the web it says that it can not be connected. Any suggestion? I tried it on both my wifes and my computers.

Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it!!!!!!

Hook both phones up to the computer and open an explorer window for both. Drag and drop from one to the other. If it completes the transfer the file(s) will be right where you dropped it.

I tried that, but I could not find the photo I moved. Ok, but then again I have no idea how to find the stinking SD card on the phone to even see what is on it. I took the phone to sprint and they moved some of the pictures but not all of them and again I am not sure where they are. When I put the EVO on my computer I opened up all the files that are on the card and not one of them had the pictures. Is something wrong with it or am I just that goofy that I can not figure this out. Usually I am pretty swift with this kind of thing.

Take a picture with the EVO. It will create it's own images folder at

/sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA

That's where I put all my pics that I wanted to transfer over.

If you've opened everything on the card and can't find any images then I'm guessing it wasn't transfered. Open the "Gallery" app and view the photo's in there on the phone. See if any of them show up in there. If not, then they aren't on the sdcard

They are in the gallery, but not on the card. I think the goober that I delt with at sprint had them put on the phone itself. I dont want them there. I even made a folder and tried to move one picture there and nothing. It would not even open on my computer.

Open a pic in the gallery and hit

Menu>More>Details

What's it's say for the file path. That's where they are stored at. I'm not sure how they could be on the phone itself, They've got to be on the card to my knowledge...

not sure how to do screen shots for you but what it says is file path:\100media

I did not see a file on the card that says that. I looked at a few other pictures as well. On my bb I had sub folders for all my pictures and it seems like the file paths are the folders I had set up on the BB but again when I had the EVO hooked up to the computer it does not show those folders on there. Weird!!!

I'm not 100% sure but in my sd card the media files are in a file called DCIM which then leads me to a file called 100 media. Try and look again in ever folder you find.

Ok y ou two are awesome, but why can I not see them all when I open the gallery? They seem to be there when I open the card on the computer, but they are not showing up in the gallery on the phone.

Any Ideas?

You have to unhook the phone from the computer and then they'll show up in the gallery. Can't do both at the same time.

Ya I did that. That was no biggie, I am just saying that not all of them are showing up. That is why I was asking all this. Sprint moved them for me, but I could tell I was missing some, but looking on the card it seems they are there, they just dont seem to show up on the screen. I take you can not make folders like I did on the BB to veiw the pictures. They just cluster all up to show on the gallery??

Anything that's on the card should be showing in the gallery. Unless its perhaps a corrupt file.

The gallery will separate them by the app that placed the picture there, but for the most part they just go into a cluster. You can make folders but you need a File Manager to do that, or do it via your computers Explorer window while hooked up. They'll still show in the gallery as one big folder though.
