Help Battery Drain: Voice calls biggest consumer

Since owning this phone i have had very unacceptable battery life, it hinders the way i intend to use it. I yet to use bluetooth or wifi on this phone for this reason. I shy away from using it as a web browser for long periods of time and forget about games will not happen if battery life is this bad. Checking my battery usage, Voice Calls is always the biggest culprit, and its not even close. For example currently with 30% life left and it being unplugged for 6h 9 min, voice calls are at 70% w/ 47min of talk time, display at 15% everything else is under 5%. I tend to give this phone a heck of alot more use that what its allowing me. Is something wrong w/ this phone? I need some help to determine this battery issue as I have little over a week left in my 30days. What is showing as you biggest drain, in battery use? Please help.

If your phone is working extra hard to maintain connectivity on your voice calls (you're in a concrete building / a server room all day, or else you live in the rural areas where the nearest tower is well over 15 miles away) then it is not surprising that the battery will be dying so fast.

A bit more info so we can rule these factors out / point to them as the culprit would be nice.

I just talked to Verizon about this same issue yesterday. I was having some serious battery issues of my own and I too was limiting my use to accommodate the phone. After some troubleshooting with the tech guy over the phone he advised me to do a factory reset. So I did, and now my battery life issues are a thing of the past. Don't know if it will work for you but it did me for. Nearly tripled my battery length. I know reseting sucks but its better than having a charger in every outlet.

Well, i live in an area w/ great reception have at least 3 bars all day. I will keep a factory reset in mind, how does one go about doing one anyway? I will use it as a last resort. I dont know how some guys are getting 24hrs+ that seems unthinkable for my phone.

You indicate that voice calls are the majority of your phone's use so of course it will show the largest percentage of battery use.

I easily get a full day's use out of my battery and I use it to check weather, file flight plans, browse the web, etc. My battery use is pretty well spreadout amongst the various uses. Voice calls are probably around 15% battery use which is about right. If I only used it for voice calls and only made 3 calls a day that percentage would go way up as voice calls would be a larger percent of my use.

OK did factory reset today tried to see if it would help. No dice phone is still devouring battery. No wi, gps, or bluetooth very little web browsing today and tested out a gamefor about 20 minutes, 3 phone calls that have lasted a total of 1hr 18min. Not sure what to do next other than ask for a new phone.

Actually, I found that the google page you open as your home page (unless you change it) will try to track you... If you go to the browser settings and say that you dont want it to track you, google will keep trying to (you can see gps symbol, I leave GPS on for mylookout) and karate kick your battery level hard... I checked and my phone was at 10% haha
