Use eris as air card?

Sounds like pdanet is a nice little product. Haven't had a chance to work with it yet.

Has anyone used it to replace standard home web access (comcast, Qwest) for multiple computers? Would love to get rid of my home web access if this solution can provide decent connectivity for 3 laptops and still able to take in bound calls at the same time.

Thanks

How do you share it between multiple PC's?

you would probably have to use a wireless router ... i say that because, though i use pdanet often, i have never tried to use it on the desktop pc that my wireless router is connected to so i do not know if it would work. but as far as my uses pdanet is great whenever comcast internet acts up. which, unfortunately, is more often than i would like. :(

You can set up an ad-hoc network if your PC has a wifi card. Just google "how to share LAN connection over WIFI"

I absolutly love this :D I cant wait till onlive comes out (new game console thing that runs purely on internet- OnLive: The Future of Video Games) I will have my phone connected to a netbook, and onlive plugged into the netbook. Pure video game pwnage :p

I would be careful with this. While our data plans are "unlimited", Verizon has ways of knowing if there is "excessive usage". Data amounts that would not be possible for a mobile device. I'm not sure how much data is used in playing online games, but if it significantly higher than what your phone can handle, I'd be weary.

they have no way of knowing you are tethering with pdanet
They have no way of tracking it.

No "Mobile Network" at the same time as voice with Verizon's CDMA2K network - that's why AT&T constantly mentions their capability to do just that in their ads (to make their weak 3G deployment look better than Verizon's).

If you live in an area without DSL or Cable service, but you do have a good EVDO signal, you could use Verizon's MiFi 2200, but you won't be getting something for free - unbundled that service is $60.00/mo for 5Gb of traffic. (I don't know if they will discount it if you bundle it together with a cell plan).
