I just want to know why there are some haters in the forum? Listen if your a THUNDERBOLT lover then you shouldnt be here...there is a special forum just for you under HTC THUNDERBOLT..this part of the forums is for the SAMSUNG DROID CHARGE owners/lovers. I've owned the TB and honestly yea it had good RAM but thats all that was good about it..you haters say "all you need to do is tweak it to make battery life better" the only way was to turn off LTE and if you do that then y have a 4G phone? At least with the DC me and others are getting 9-15 hours with 4G constantly running. All i know is the DC is a great phone IMO the best 4G phone out there..you want to hate? Do it on your own forums not here. Thank you

I am not a Charge owner yet. Still not sure if I will be. But I know what you mean. I think we all welcome discussion about the phone here. But I am only interested in reading discussion from people that have the phone or have used the phone or even people considering the phone.

I am not considering the thunderbolt (i own an evo) so I dont go to that message board talking crap on the phone.

I really dont see why a person who hasnt used the phone and would never buy a samsung phone would come to this message board to just say negative things about a product they have never used. Actually I do see why they would. 1. the internet is full of trolls. 2. People need to bash competing products to make them feel better about their purchase of TB or what other phone they own.

Kind of sad either way.

I think its more about Samsung than the phone itself. Samsung is the slowest Company on the planet for updates and upgrades and just fixing things in general. No matter how good the handset may be without proper support you will grow to hate it trust me on this. I know myself I will never buy another Samsung product after owning the 4G Epic. I think some people just take warnings like this the wrong way. Example, today HTC has announced that Gingerbread should be pushed to its T-bolts by late June but with Samsung you will be lucky to see it by New Years day thats why there are Samsung haters.

The hate is three-fold:

1. Other carriers are getting REAL chipset updates, better ram and storage from Samsung in their new phones... for less.

2. The Charge has low ram, slow file system and the Wiz UI (kind of like a cheap iOS knock-off).

3. $300 for this?!

Compare it to what the other carriers are getting and the hate is justified. VZW is taking advantage of people, since they think they can sell this stuff at premium prices and less device than what other carriers are selling- BECAUSE THEY CAN, due to VZW superior coverage map.

If I had no soul, I would do the same thing from a business standpoint, since makes sense. Still, I hope this device FAILS real bad. The last thing we want is this device to be a success, since VZW will validate how they can screw customers over, going forward. Mid level devices at premium prices.

I suggest the "hate" is directed more at VZW.

I think some of the reason stems from the galaxy s2 was already released before this phone and Verizon settles for a much more obsolete model that could be about the same but certainly NOT better than the tbolt, to call their next LTE phone. All for 50$ more than the tbolt. And nothing against the phone itself, but touchwiz really blows compared to Sense. Samsung made some large strides in their newest touchwiz 4.0 but again, that's only available on the S2.

I don't think this phone will be half as successful as the thunderbolt mainly because the initial LTE hysteria has passed and those users ended up with the thunderbolt. Verizon has not taken a step forward with this phone and I dont' think they will entice many users that were in the "waiting for the next big thing" category. Not trying to hate on the phone but just thinkign about it from a business perspective.

you see you sound like you don't own a DC...so why are you even on this forum? you hate because you cant afford it or simply won't pony up the doe for something that looks and feels better than a htc or whatever it is you have. you say you hope the device fails...well i say others in its category have already failed because they don't match up to the DC. once again if you own a DC then you all know what im talking about...if you DON'T own a DC then go to your own forums and complain about your own problems with your phones..infact all HTC's have failed 1 right after the other...at least samsung has better features and better high quality phones...maybe not the best when matched to a motorola but darn near close especially with the DC. so whether your mad because you cant afford it or your mad because you do know that the DC is better...take your madness and sadness to your OWN forum. thank you.:D

The Charge would have got a "pass" if priced at $200, but it got propped up with the "Droid" brand. It should be a crime to release such a sweet display on a device with low ram and such a slow file system.

Not sure why Samsung sticks with RFS, but it is killing performance. Hummingbird is not the problem with performance.

I have messed with the Charge and compared to the Inc, TB and Droid X. One hour is all I need to know that the Charge is slow and overpriced.

Never said the TB is a good device and would not buy it either. The point of the forums is to point out issues and be subjective. If you want a fanboy site, make one :)

I am looking for a device to replace my Incredible, which sux for call quality and the infamous 150mb data/data folder issue. I even dog my own device when it deserves it.

added:

I aint got no device loyalties, since it can not love you back. Unreciprocated, it be.

listen if you know forums then you should know that when you come to a forum and your looking for something like a phone to replace your terrible htc then you come in, ask the questions you want answered and then when your done asking and you have your answers you move on..you just don't stay and keep bashing the people that like the product just because your not satisfied..and obviously this forum is for people who like the DC so it is kind of like a fan site ;) but you wouldn't know that because your not a FAN...all of you keep on with this processor and stuff honestly just like any other phone when root comes out you can make it faster!!! hello??? just like with the driod og which i use to have...it was slow, sluggish but when rooted and running at 1.25ghz it was blazing fast and snappy...and you complain about the touchwiz problem...yea i noticed it was sluggish when on the stock home but adding Launcher Pro (paid) i noticed that all that sluggishness is gone and now it runs smooth like glass!!! so once again if your done asking questions about replacing your phone then move to the next one because obviously this phone is not for you.

I played with the Charge for about 15 minutes at the story yesterday--I thought it was awesome. The screen is beautiful..but the physical buttons are what sold me....the more i used them, the more I realized how much I don't like capacitive buttons... The buttons, the screen, and HDMI out is enough to sell me..but the 300 isnt...I'm going to wait a month and see if they drop the price....I got time :)

Actually you're wrong on this one. HTC Evo 4g was the original android headset that set itself apart and let it compete with the iphone. This headset was vastly successful. The HTC thunderbolt sold at the same pace as iphones upon its release. Dont' even need to comment on the droid incredible and its success. Samsung has had it's success with the galaxy S and S2, moto with the droid X and so forth. However, to call HTC unsuccessful is pretty stupid to say the least, look at HTC's financials is all that need be said.

Actually that would be the droid 1. Without Verizons huge push in advertising android would not be what it is today.

we are not talking financially..we are talking about how customers have hit themselves over and over again because they couldn't wait for something better. like i've said i've owned the thunderbolt best thing about the phone was the ram and thats it. the tb only sold at that pace because it was vzw's first 4G phone other than that nobody could really handle it because of the battery issue and other issues such as how you had to have a headphone set with a built in mic just to talk to someone unlike the DC i have just a regular pair of Beats by Dre Tours with just the left and right inputs and i can hear and talk with no problem...the thunderbolt only let you hear and thats it. the sound quality on the DC is incredible compared to the tb...battery life blows the tb out of the water and i can look for phone updates with out getting the "sorry no service please try again later when you have service" message like i did with the tb...out of the box the DC records video/sound with out no hicups unlike the tb which needed an update just to make it sound better...oh yea i don't need to turn off 4G to conserve battery life on my DC like all the TB owners do...face it the only thing you TB owners have is very good ram thats it.

Seems like you are the hater. You sound like an iphone fanboy. You get on other people for the same thing you are doing bashing the Bolt.

I have nothing against samsung and thought about getting the charge but its a known issue that samsung is very slow with their updates. I remember awhile back the galaxy had the gps issue and it took them a coons age to fix the GPS problem. When I buy a phone I look for if they give support to their phones or if they release it and then act like they never made the phone.

So yes I own the bolt but to call me a hater just shows you as a typical fanboy.

Charge should be $200. $300 is whack and folks that buy it simply encourage VZW to keep pushing less device for more money. Great business model, but not for customers.

I bought a 1700 extended battery for the tbolt that lasts me the whole day easily on 4g and it still didn't cost as much as the 50$ premium you paid on your phone. Also, I have an iphone headset from ebay for 10$ that serves me well, I would rather talk on a headphone when walking around nyc.

Playing with the DC at the verizon store, I must say that the screen is nicer but the lag was extremely noticeable when opening apps and scrolling between screens and even turning the phone on was a drag. 50$ extra for a slower phone? Not a fan. Again, this phone is the tbolt's equal MAYBE but certainly not better than it.

This is probably most unproductive thread on this forum. One side is determined to hate, bash Charge and other is to defend it and trash Tbolt. Both Charge and Tbolt has pros and cons and you may prefer one over the other depending on how you look at it. But there is no reason to hate others and try to sway interested folks away. For me the only downside of Charge is sluggish RFS file system and price, but it's pretty good otherwise. Also Samsung has been showing they are getting their acts together on software updates (Charge and SGSII got firmware updates, international Galaxy S getting gingerbread this week), so I wouldn't worry much on Sammy's updates.

The good thing about android is that we have choice on brand, model unlike iPhone from Apple's monopoly. You can have your preferred android phone depending on which aspect of phone you value most. But we shouldn't bash others making different choice on android phone.

Who cares what those with any other phone or on any other carrier think! You like your phone, that's all that matters. :)

FWIW, when you see people trolling or causing a scene, just click the
