What stores are selling the X2 on the 19th?

That's strange, been talking with Best Buy in my area over phone and they said they could sell it and it launched today...just trying to make sure I can get it for $149 (corporate/upgrade)...and I can't dangit...have to pay $199.

yep, the official release date was changed to today.
not online only... but actually in brick and mortar stores today.

I just walked out of the local Best Buy with my new Droid X2. They would NOT honor the formerly known as "new every 2" discount - which I understand is $30 from Verizon. Rather than wait for a web shipment or go to the Verizon store on the 26th, I paid the $199 price by signing a new 2 year agreement.

So far the phone is sweet - really fast and snappy compared to my Incredible. We'll see how it holds up when I get my 100+ apps on there. :)

Two BBs where I live knew nothing and had nothing. The store I went to even opened their storage case to see if they had any.

Seems odd not a peep of nobody with one, or not a hands on review.

I call bunk for in stores today for sale.

Added: Any real devices in the wild to refute?

not all brick and mortar stores are going to have it in stock, esp since the release date was changed on the fly either yesterday or the day before. but make no mistake, the date was changed to today.

those of you keeping up with all the Verizon related Android device news know that the original date was supposed to be May 12th, so some places that have them now prob got them around that time and were told to hold them until whatever date.

but yeah, they're out there. you just might have to look around very hard.

Point I was making was they seemed clueless for a launch, but all use the same bulletin system in their point of sale.

Still, a refute is a refute. I got refuted real good :)

Or did I?????? First guro post was THAT post....... Give us pics to back the refute :)

I am just grasping at straws to refute the refute ;)

lol nah you're right dude. they're clueless, though, because of the mix up with the dates. and sometimes people don't actually "get the memo" :p

I'm sorry... I wanted to, but unfortunately now my X2 is my camera... I have no other way to post pics.

However, I will say that next to my mom's X1, the resolution is crazy better. The first thing she said was "Wow, yours looks so much better!"

"That's because they're different phones."

"But they look the exact same."

"I know."

As far as dual core... nothing crazy. However, probably the best performance I've ever seen from Launcher Pro, literally unstoppable. The lack of camera button is a bummer, but if anything the screen is definitely worth it.

I have yet to test out any online flash, but I'll keep you updated.

(My battery died because I'd been going at it hard core for about 4 hours, so I'm letting it charge now.)

Does the screen appear to have the same PenTile arrangement as the Atrix?

I got my DX2 at a local Verizon outlet... happen to get the last one! The Corporate Verizon store didn't have it, won't have it until the 26th and assured me NO ONE will have it before then. I took it in there after I acquired it so they could oooh and ahhh for about 5 mins as they tried to shield what was going on from their customers. hahahaha.

Phone is MUCH snappier coming from the OG Droid. Do not like this Motoblur crap... installing Launcher Pro.

My quick review:

I had intended on getting this until the SGS2 came out (my phone has been dead for nearly 3 weeks, so it was time for a new one). After playing with it all day... I'm not seeing much reason for this. The SGS2 may be better, and faster (still haven't played games or listened to music), but this thing is great. With Launcher Pro on there, it's so quick and seamless. The visuals are stellar. I don't see much reason to continue on.

The Cons... Bloatware, Ram, no FFC, no 4G.

Explanations: Hide the bloatware and add Launcher Pro (so quick), so far the ram is suitable, FFC won't be cool until 4g is around, and 4G won't be cool until there are phones out with dual core, 1+GB of ram, and HUGE batteries.

This phone is great, and is totally living up to my expectations.

Keep in mind... this is my first smartphone. But as a geek in a tech world, I've messed with plenty. This is a very decent phone.
