Dreaming of a dock- and a clock

I've just recently cast by Blackberry Storm aside for a Droid Eris.

So far, the only thing I'm really missing is that my Storm had a BEAUTIFUL charging dock (cradle). It hasn't been easy to find one for the Eris, though I did order one from eBay. What I'll really miss, though, was that the Storm automatically converted into a full-screen clock when plugged in. While I did figure out how to keep the home screen lit while charging, it's not quite as effective bedside clock as the storm was. The similar feature (weather station/clock) on the Moto Droid was the ONLY thing pulling me to that device instead, but I hold out hope that an app will be developed to add the function I'm looking for.

I ordered something similar to this:
HTC Droid Eris Desktop Dock - eBay (item 220541737073 end time Jan-17-10 18:15:17 PST)

It's not as aesthetically pleasing as my Storm's cradle was, but I think it'll do.

Any suggestions for a good clock app or a better dock? The t-mobile mytouch docking station looks pretty cool, but I'm not sure the Eris will fit

Try an app called Nightwatch. It's not near as pretty as the Storm's built in clock was, but it does the trick. I got it in the Market. I've been looking for a cradle/dock myself...going to check out the ones posted here.

I can't find anything in the market called "nightwatch". I even found QR code links on my PC, but when the link opens in the market there is a 'not found' error

I think I like that one better than NightWatch....thanks for the tip!!!

Yeah, I found that one, too. Works great now that the update this morning fixed the am/pm bug.

The ebay dock I mentioned in my original post works well, but it's not the greatest looking. I also ordered the seidio innodock jr, but it hasn't gotten here yet.

hey get the app called Lightning Bug, they just updated it to go landscape! It has a lot of options to keep the screen lit, have it run in the background or not, go landscape mode or regular...really check it out. Its main features are the MP3 alarm thats available (but not programmable to not include weekends bummer...) and neato soothing sounds that fade quietly over the span of any quantity of time you want them to run. Helps ya sleep, wakes you up and has a nice looking clock.
