Post your Atrix home screen

Hi everyone, I need some help posting my screen shots. (I am using "Screen Shot IT - Paid version). I tried using the USB option, to down load the pictures thru my computer. Android said I didn't have the right file extension. When I changed it to one of the others, my picture was to large and I had to resize it smaller. (Don't know how to do that.) I need step by step instructions on how to do this using the USB and/or right from my phone. Thanks

Alright Azazal, please tell me you're not using that 'kill all' button. If you're using the task killing app for task killing. For the love of all things Android, please stop!!! I really hope you know that Android doesn't require a task killer. Expecially when your phone is an Atrix!

To be honest I don't. I just have it there to see where my usage is at. I get a weird satisfaction knowing how much memory I have free even with 20+ apps running.

But I know where you're coming from. I used to used ATK and the like but realized that was probably doing more harm than good for my phone.

This setup has lasted the longest, so far. Stole the idea from rcubed here: screens thread

Launcher Pro Plus, 5 screens, hidden notifications. 1 dock bar with all icons removed EXCEPT postition 5: invisible icon (empty 128x128 .png file) that opens app drawer. this is located at the 'peak' of the upside down letter A, lower right, for all screens

1: top - Beautiful weather forecast, no current weather. flat carved skin
bottom - Beautiful weather current conditons, flat carved skin
2: Make your own clock for date and time widgets. Battstat widget
3: Pure Messenger, normal icons (should probably use custom white icons but I was lazy)
4: normal icons. Again, should use custom red-colored icons
5: Launcher Pro plus calendar, switchpro widgets for wifi/bluetooth/airplane

I know you already mentioned you have an APP for Screenshots but this is what I do:

1. I use this App Screen capture app for Atrix *Updated* - xda-developers for my screen shots. Works well except sometimes when it runs for a long time it starts force closing itself and saying its not responding but when I don't need it I can manage it in my settings > applications > running applications to kill it. I use this app because it saves my files to PNG or JPG format.
2. I then upload the file to my computer using USB (or email them to myself, or put them in my Dropbox and take them out on my computer or bluetooth transfer them to my computer) The files are saved into the main MB860 SD card in the Atrix under the folder called Screenshots. They can then be transferred out doing that. Once I have it on my computer I can then upload them to TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting and use the URL on this forum to show it.

Hope this helps.

Man, those are a LOT of hoops to jump through, just to get a screen shot! I've not tried them since I got my Atrix, but why wouldn't Shoot Me and Drop Box work on an Atrix, the same as they do on, say, a Droid X?

It's not that much. its a 2 step process...

Basically he was saying he was having issues with his current screenshot app not taking pictures in recognizable format. The app I mentioned takes pics in PNG and JPG.

Also, to make the Simiclock background transparent:

Tap the widget to bring up settings
Tap on "Background color" under the Background settings header
Set alpha to 0
Profit

ah. thats what alpha meant. lol... profit indeed. thank you! much appreciated. for an unrooted phone my screens lookin a lil nicer now.

i guess i have another question. in threads such as this one (post your screens) i have seen ppl with all different wallpapers for each screen (3 to the left and right of the homepage). is that because he/she is rooted? or is it something else im missing?

Odds are they are using a scrollable wallpaper. The stock wallpapers mostly all work in this fashion. You don't need to be rooted to have this feature, just an optimized wallpaper for your device.

Its a live wallpaper not an app. Go to wallpapers and then live wallpapers. From there you can select it and choose settings. That will allow you to modify anything you want to.
