Help me decide my new phone?

With two weeks left with my old phone, and contract? I'm in for a new upgrade for my wife and I! I've been really eyeing the moment. My brother has picked one up as well. But you know how it is with so many choices these days you can imagine what I'm going thru...being a Loyal Sprint customer for 10 yrs...I sometimes doexplore my options? Obviously I just can't see anything cheaper than Sprint as for everything data for 2 lines? Also it will be my first smartphone for my wife and I.

I Have a few questions?

1. With a new smartphone can you exchange the phone every year with all the discounts?

2. I'm pretty good with Technology? is it something I can pick up quickly? And can my wife work with it enough that she won't throw the phone at me because she doesn't know how to?

3. I've been in the site for awhile and now just registered, so if when I get my new phone in Feb...do I need to worry it should have it latest updates? This can decide for me where to purchase from? Store or Store & Service.

4. How does everyone feel about the moment vs. Droid, Iphone even N1?

5. Do you feel I should get two moments? or one of each..Hero for wife and Moment for me?

6. Do feel the moment is a compareable as the Iphone? And do you feel is a device "mini-Laptop" and NOT a phone?

7. How many people actually use the slide keyboard vs. touch screen, and does the auto correction work decent?

8. Sorry for all the questions? thanks for all the support in advance!:)

Whats wrong with the rest of the phone? Seems pretty nice from what I have seen.

You're a Touch Pro owner so I imagine that keyboards are pretty important to you. I was (and honestly still am a keyboard fan) I owned several phones from HTC all with keyboards, including the Touch Pro. Out of all those phones I believe the Touch Pro's to be the nicest (though I always though the TP2's keyboard looked nice). Do yourself a favor and go play with the moments keyboard. I personally decided that there was no way I could live with it.

On paper the moment looks nice - but in practice the faster processor doesn't seem to do much besides eat more battery. The build quality of the device seems to be up to "dumb phone" standards. It's been plagued with problems, even the update to fix the phone is plagued with problems. Seems you have to go to a Sprint repair center - don't have one of those in your area - that sucks for you. There is also a lot of people posting all over the internet saying repair centers still don't have the upgrade, or the equipment to do it.

1. With a new smartphone can you exchange the phone every year with all the discounts?

--- The discounts are the same, but obviously they're a smaller percent of the total cost of the phone.

2. I'm pretty good with Technology? is it something I can pick up quickly? And can my wife work with it enough that she won't throw the phone at me because she doesn't know how to?

--- It is really easy to pick up on, especially reading the forums. My girlfriend just got a moment today and she loves it. I helped her setup her home screens and put a few apps on it and she was good to go.

3. I've been in the site for awhile and now just registered, so if when I get my new phone in Feb...do I need to worry it should have it latest updates? This can decide for me where to purchase from? Store or Store & Service.

--- If there is a store with a service dept near you, I'd get it from there. Even if you could update from home, why not knock it out at the same time?

4. How does everyone feel about the moment vs. Droid, Iphone even N1?

--- How do I feel? Well, the moment can be attached to a plan I'm willing to pay for and the droid, iphone, and N1 cannot. If it is your first smart phone, it will be light years ahead of what you're used to; no point in paying more per month.

5. Do you feel I should get two moments? or one of each..Hero for wife and Moment for me?

--- Get which ever phones you like better. I am more of a fan of the hero than moment, but my girlfriend loved the physical keyboard of the moment, so that's what she got. It's best not to decide for them :)

6. Do feel the moment is a compareable as the Iphone? And do you feel is a device "mini-Laptop" and NOT a phone?

--- It's comparable to the Iphone in the sense that it can do most of the things the Iphone does. It generally has more options than the iphone and therefore a greater learning curve (still not bad though).

7. How many people actually use the slide keyboard vs. touch screen, and does the auto correction work decent?

--- When I use the moment I only use the screen. I do not like the layout of the keys. People that are slow typers will probably like the physical keyboard.

8. Sorry for all the questions? thanks for all the support in advance!:)

No problem :)
