Official update from Motorola regarding 2.0.1

Hello Android fans, recently we let everyone know that the Android 2.0.1 update was coming, but we could not provide a confirmed date. We can tell you however that we will be staggering the release of the 2.0.1 update starting with Italy and France, and planning to follow shortly for Germany and UK. Once we have confirmation of the dates we will let you know. Thank you for your patience.

No, with your phone as the distribution depends on IMEI.You have to know that if you want root, you should not apply the update but wait for a modified one (couple of days)

i ...already got the update today and i have the hk motorola.

it looks better than 2.0... but i havent really played around with it yet. i dont know if im biased but it seems to run a bit smoother.

I have a sim-free german milestone, but am in Ireland - will I be able to get the update by going to system updates under settings in my phone and get it OTA on 3g or wireless? Or do i have to be physically in germany?

I am from croatia and got my milestone from germany.
do i have to worry about the update?

probably not.

i am from canada and got my milestone in hong kong and i got the update yesterday.

i dont think milestone isnt even launched in canada yet..so it must have been the hong kong servers that i got my update from.

Just so ya know, the german update server has been working for weeks, so it's not necessarily an indication of an impending update!

Unless of course Moto were waiting to get both Germany and UK up and running before releasing the update..

I got my Milestone from Expansys and today morning it finally stopped talking about connection problems and just said "Your system is up to date". So they probably enabled the UK update server, and that one is used for all phones sold from Expansys.

Mine get update this morning. The procedure was smooth through 3G network.

Well, this is an odd one.

I looked on this forum 2 days ago and a user in the UK said that they were now getting a different message when checking updates, the previous message was "unable to connect to server" now they were getting "your device is up to date".

I tried this myself and i also received this new message......but........

I have tried this again today and now i am getting the old message again (could not connect to server)

How odd.....

Mind you, saying that, i dont think this update will resolve the problems i have been having with my milestone (Gmail & GTalk problems)

Hi, how is the 2.0.1 working for the HK Motorola? I am thinkiing of this one, mainly because i signed a contract with PCCW with the Nexus One and had to give it back as it was just too buggy. So i need to find a replacement and hence am considering Milestone. Any feedback would be appreciated.
