You want a phone, I got your phone LOL HTC 'Supersonic' to ring in WiMAX on Sprint, Android-style -- Engadget
Android + Snapdragon + 4.3 inch screen + Sprint = WIN
4G when lot's of us don't have 3G + Waiting until the phone is out of date to get it = FAIL.
I hope Sprint comes out with something in between to satisfy us.
You are using that "something in between to satisfy us".
I disagree.
Right now I am using the Hero, don't take me wrong, I love the device. However I would like a bit more power - nothing is ever wrong with that. However I as much as I look forward to "Supersonic" if it exists - I don't look forward to the 4G part of it.
That phone is barely 3 months old and is just fine for most users. You must be one of those guys who needs 8 apps running at once plus his music and youtube videos going right? Do yourself a favor and just buy a laptop. Plenty of processing power to run all your needs and portable!
.I am 3 months into a device and my typical device life cycle is 6 - 7 months and my chosen carrier has decided to sit on their thumbs while everyone else runs circles around them. That makes me feel itchy! Do yourself a favor and stop being such an apologist
Again, what other carrier do you see "running circles" around Sprint?
When it comes to hardware options Sprint is starting to lack.
Verizon: Droid, Droid Eris, HTC Imagio, Omnia II, Touch Pro 2, Diamond, Storm 2 and your usual string of random Blackberry phones...and soon the Nexus One, Pre and Pixi - new and improved.
T-Mobile: Nexus One, MyTouch3G, G1, Motorola Cliq, and typical Blackberry line and soon the HTC HD2.
AT&T: iPhone, Tilt 2 (Touch Pro 2), HTC Pure (Diamond 2), Blackberry, 3 future Android devices and most likely the Pre and Pixi soon.
Sprint: Hero, Moment, Touch Pro 2, Pre and Pixi, Treo Pro, Blackberry, and possibly the Supersonic.
I like Sprint, I get a great deal with them and decent service. I have my complaints but they are healthy ones. As far as the Hero I love it; it's the best device I have every owned and everyday I like it a little more. I would love to have the Nexus One - not so sure about T-Mobile...when it hits Verizon if I have magically end up with some more disposable income I might be tempted to switch. However right now I am pretty happy with the Hero.
I just want to see Sprint get better devices - and more options. The smartphone market is expanding exponentially and right now I don't see Sprint bringing many compelling devices to the market. Some people sit around and follow football teams - some of us follow tech companies. It's a hobby and I feel like right now my favorite team is being stagnant. There is still time and more trade shows for Sprint to come up with something - but I am not feeling it.
anyone see this link?
Very possibly BS but says Supersonic may not be carrier attached and could be available on TMo with Andriod 3.0
HTC Supersonic Take II: Carrier T-Mobile, OS Android 3.0 - DeviceMAG
So if it ships to Sprint 1st half of 2010, how long will Sprint take to get it ready for the consumer? I'm looking forward to this phone in a big way!
Got this directly from HTC:

I still say if the Supersonic comes to Sprint with or without Android 3.0, it will be around the end of 2010 since thats when alot of the scheduled cites bound to get 4G will be going live. For sure it will come with 2.1 but 3.0 will sweetened the deal.Probably summer. I doubt they will wait too long, they could use a new flagship device.
