I DID IT!!!!!

I sat down for a few hours and tweaked CM7 to run on the C. EVERYTHING runs so far. You need to make no changes, just flash it.

If you have a recovery menu you know how to do it. Menu will be out very soon too.

funny URL name I know but its from back when I was blogging my sessions.Download it there
Uploading now :D
LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR!!

IF you do not have the new recovery menu that only a handful of us have, DO NOT FLASH THIS. Only testers can flash this until a full recovery for this phone is released. THANK YOU

Just a heads up, if you get an error flashing saying that signature failed, make sure to toggle signature verification in recovery before flashing :) I just ran into that lol

BTW: Does this have GAPPS included?

I flashed this, and it worked fine until the phone went to sleep. Afterwards, everytime I tried to wake up the phone no visuals would come up. Just the backlight would appear.

Another thing: I can't get MMS to work.

Rebel,
Thanks for porting over CM7 to the C.

Things I have noticed since using this:
* When I push my power key and select power off, the phone reboots.
* When making or accepting a call and the proximity sensor makes the screen go blank, it sometimes will not come back on.

Not a problem. Just do a clean wipe in your recovery menu and install it again. I've noticed those that are having the issues with the power button and the screen coming back on make sure you have created a swap space. When it won't come back on hold down the power button and wait a couple seconds. The menu will pop up and just hit the back key and you will return to your phone. I run into the issue every now and then but mine has consistently been working fine. I've never had any proximity sensor issues, do a clean wipe and see if it fixes it.No one else seems to have had that issue either.

First of all Thanks for your hard work! I Downloaded your CM7LGC.zip and it is working like a champ.

I did have a couple problems with the screen not coming on from sleep/screen lock...I seem to have fixed that when I disabled the screen power off/on animation thing.

*edit* Also I used Xiona Flash Recovery that was posted awhile back

Quick question also... I've seen in a couple places it says MetroPCS anyway to change that to say Cricket?

Again great job and am very excited for the overclocked rom :D

You can edit the eri.xml file located within the framework-res.apk file. Hex edit the eri.xml file and replace "Metro PCS" with "Cricket".

*** Edit *** After editing the eri.xml and the build.prop to include the correct information for Cricket, I put that all back together into a signed zip and flashed. I noticed that this corrects a bunch of Metro PCS info to Cricket and seems to work a little better. I also included the MMS fix right in the flashable rom file.

was just about to release that as an update but it looks like you did it already. It really doesn't make a difference performance wise. They run on the same network under different names, like Ntelos and alltell used to. Thats why the stock rom has metro stuff in the system files if you look.

Could you upload and link that fix please good sir

*edit* so I edited build.prop and that worked but when I hex edited the eri.xml and changed it to cricket repacked it into the frameworkres apk it goes into no service... stumped

First, I would like to say thank-you rebel for getting us this far.
I installed the custom recovery and cm7 rom, but have two issues. One is the screen not allways coming on or back on after a call. The second issue is no GPS. Is this from something I did wrong? I did do a wipe and partitioned before flashing. I love this ron, and I would hate to go back to stock. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Your very welcome gideon. My issue resolved it self by updating to the latest google maps.I no longer have issues, also a fix is coming out for those of you that do.Second, turn off animations and just wait a second if it doesnt come up the first time try it again. I used to have an issue with the screen off but the power button seems to work either way. just hold it down until you see something and press the back key if it locks up.

Sogone209, the instructions are out there if you do your home work. This is my first android phone as well, but I managed to find enough information out there to be able to do this. You need to understand what you are doing before you do it.

he freaked out on everyone and texted me 86 times from 3am on. The mod actually deleted his post. Hes been pretty horrible to me and has been non stop harassing me. All because he couldn't follow directions. So I ask that everyone let him figure this out himself. I prefer he not run the rom at all if he can't figure out how to install it he's not experienced enough to deal with anything if any issues arise. As it says in the FAQ if you did not follow the bulletins we laid out do not install it you will brick your device. Gideon has my respect for asking for help and being patient. thank you gideon. my ad account was frozen because sogone went on there and clicked the same ad a hundred times and it sent up a red flag.it was logged as his IP (thank god they log them) so i knew who it was.

If there's anything you guys know I can do there please let me know.

I flashed the cm7 rom for the m and have only minor issues. I fixed the GPS and mms with tips I found on the xda. I also flashed the sense rom and had no issues.

I've asked people not to flash either for a reason. This one has the optimus c kernel at the base of it. Also modifications, your playing with fire gideon. We've been over this.Just because it appears to work doesn't mean it's not damaging.

this phones base is actually closer to the optimus V in terms of kernel. Again just because anothers works does not mean your not causing damage. I cannot stress this enough. Just look at the mount when you install the recovery, their not even the same.Theres a reason for that.
