The Hangover Part II Discussion

Surprised I didn't see one of these already up (I decided not to bump the other Hangover 2 thread because that seemed to be focused on why certain people were not casted into the movie)

Thought the movie was pretty funny. The story line is literally like the first one.. exact same thing down to how it starts (goes into the future with the phone call.. then goes backwards to show how it got to the phonecall).. to how it ends (they look through pictures and agree to delete them after)

There were some over the top moments and tons of shock scenes.. overall, for a sequel, I enjoyed it. I went in with the mindset that it was not going to top the first one, and that seemed to help me enjoy it a little more. TON of graphic/ranchy scenes, so if you're not a fan of that, I'd suggest skipping this haha

I really did not like that they used the same exact plot. The structure being the same is fine. Ongoing jokes that carry over are great. They literally copied and pasted the script over, changed Vegas to Thailand, and changed probably ten other words in the entire script, that's how similar it was. Way too similar for my tastes.

It had a some hilarious parts. But overall, way too similar to the first. It was a remake IMO, not a sequel.

Would this movie be great if Hangover 1 didn't exist, absolutely. But it was 99% same exact material, it disappointed me quite a bit.

My grade, C-. Loved 1, 2 was less than impressive.

That's pretty much what I wanted to say, but I did enjoy it more than you did. It lost a lot of it's shock value as you know to expect the insane. Still, I did lmao an awful lot.

I want to see this, I thought the first one was hilarious. I've also heard that its a similar theme/story to the first and so maybe some people will think its not so funny - maybe a case of "how can you not remember once never mind twice"...but I think if you just stop trying to be too literal and just watch it for the funny side (a bit like Knocked UP).....then it should still be amusing.
I'm dying to see it though cos I loved the first.

You'll enjoy it, don't worry. It was absolutely hilarious but I just felt that the 1st was better.

As long as you go into this movie not expecting it to be better than the first, you will enjoy it. More of the same is not a bad thing right? Lotta the same jokes rehashed and even scenes. I did not find myself LOL'ing as I did when I watched the first one. I thought Lesley Chow's character in this one was horrible. Writers should of kept him as a bad guy. I felt Alan's character was forcing the stupid rather than it just be him being stupid/naive naturally. Don't like the direction they took him.

Everyone should and will see it. Just don't expect your stomach to be hurting from all the laughing.

yeah, it was the same storyline as the first but I really enjoyed it. It was still funny and entertaining. But i think a Hangover 3 would be too much. you can do it twice but three times is too much. still i really did enjoy it. thought it was hilarious.

There will be a Hangover 3 but the storyline will be different and will close out the series according to Bradley Cooper
